  1. I decided instead of having to change the code so much, I just had it redirected to my 404 error page (still under construction). Thanks Andy for the code, though, it really helped!
  2. I tried that, but got a syntax error (unexpected T_VARIABLE)... I thought maybe it had something to do with double quotes but I changed those out and still get the error.
  3. Ok, I gave it a try, but I still can't figure out how to format it around my design. Take a look (this review does not exist): http://www.moviemansguide.com/reviews/DVD/...t.php?id=batman It looks like I'll need to change the code of the entire page to get it inside the "else" statement, correct? BTW, when going to an existing review, the page will display like normal so there are no errors.
  4. Thanks Andy. Yeah, I mis-used terms. I'll give that a try and see how it goes.
  5. It's a script I found for setting up a 404 page: ><HTML> <HEAD> <title> 404 Error Page</title> </HEAD> <BODY> <p align="center"> <h1>Error 404</h1><br>Page Not Found <p> <?php $ip = getenv ("REMOTE_ADDR"); $requri = getenv ("REQUEST_URI"); $servname = getenv ("SERVER_NAME"); $combine = $ip . " tried to load " . $servname . $requri ; $httpref = getenv ("HTTP_REFERER"); $httpagent = getenv ("HTTP_USER_AGENT"); $today = date("D M j Y g:i:s a T"); $note = "Yes you have been bagged and tagged for a making an illegal move" ; $message = "$today \n <br> $combine <br> \n User Agent = $httpagent \n <h2> $note </h2>\n <br> $httpref "; $message2 = "$today \n $combine \n User Agent = $httpagent \n $note \n $httpref "; $to = "error@moviemansguide.com"; $subject = "moviemansguide Error Page"; $from = "From: fake@moviemansguide.com\r\n"; mail($to, $subject, $message2, $from); echo $message; ?> </BODY></HTML>
  6. Well, it's under the public_html one (where the other error pages are located that were created using cpanel). Interestingly, I have set the 404.htm page when someone gets 404 error, that information gets sent to a special e-mail address, so I don't understand why the page itself isn't showing up if the info is getting to that e-mail address...
  7. Hi Bruce, I just tried that and it didn't work. I get the standard, "The webpage cannot be found" 404 page.
  8. Hi! I actually have a couple of questions regarding creating a 404 error page. 1) My pages are formed via a SQL database but when a wrong address is put in, it will display the template code without the info (example: http://www.moviemansguide.com/reviews/DVD/...id=doesntexist) When I want to do is when the id isn't found, it will display page not found but still using the format (menu on the side, etc). Here's part of the code within the "head" section: ><head> <?php include '*removed*'; $id = $_GET['id']; $titleinfo = @mysql_query("SELECT title, year, edition, hddvd FROM dvd_reviews WHERE id='$id'"); if (!$titleinfo) { exit('<p>Error retrieving information from database.<br />'. 'Error: ' . mysql_error() . '</p>'); } while ($info = mysql_fetch_array($titleinfo)) { $title = $info['title']; $year = $info['year']; $edition = $info['edition']; $display_edition = ($edition)?" - $edition":""; $hddvd = $info['hddvd']; $display_hddvd = ($hddvd)?"[$hddvd]":""; echo "<title>Movieman's Guide to the Movies >> DVD Review >> $title ($year)$display_edition $display_hddvd</title>"; } ?> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../../styles.css"> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../../style_extra.css"> <?PHP include ("/home2/moviema/public_html/external/headsection.html"); ?> </head> --------------- Question 2 2) Can I create a 404.php error page. What I want to do, like above, is to use my current page style. Problem is, I use php includes for the menus so I don't think I can do this with the shtml extension. What code do I need to put into my .htaccess file to redirect to my 404.php page? Is it allowable? I tried adding this code into the htaccess file: ErrorDocument 404 /notfound.php But it doesn't seem to do anything... Appreciate any help - Brian
  9. I have hotlinking enabled but notice that you can put in a URL to redirect to. How does that work? I have a hotlink warning image done but it doesn't seem to work and I've seen it done on other sites... When I enter an image URL, it just sits there and loads but nothing happens. When I stop it and refresh again, the address bar shows the hotlink image URL I had entered but again, it just sits there trying to load. Thanks, Brian
  10. I don't believe so. It's just the general include: home2/username/folder/file.php). Now, before it was: www.sitename.com/folder/file.php. But that was it. On the other page this happened, I have a connection to my database but using an account with limited access (just SELECT). Anyway, hopefully the whole thing has been resolved (my site is back on), but I just wanted to prevent this from happening again...
  11. And I apologize for the horizontal scroll... When I previewed my post, it didn't do that.
  12. Ok, so my account was suspended because "an attacker was able to upload malicious files". I was asked to secure my script, but I don't exactly know how. It was suggested that folders and files have the correct permissions that wouldn't allow world writable access. The pages that have a script with access to my database only get access through an account I created only with "SELECT" permissions and nothing else. Also, one of the pages that an attacker exploited does not connect to my database, so I need to know what else I need to do... Here's the code to that one page: ><HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE>Movieman's Guide to the Movies - Theatrical Release Schedule Index Page</TITLE> <META NAME="description" CONTENT="Movie review site with humdreds of movie and DVD reviews, along with movie preview pages and more!"> <META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="movie reviews, preview pages, box office, dvd release schedule, dvd box art, releases, schedule"> <LINK rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../styles.css"> <?PHP include ("/home2/*removed*/public_html/external/headsection.html"); ?> <STYLE TYPE="text/css"> <!-- .poster {text-align: center; width: 10%} .info {font-size: 10pt; color: black; width: 90%} --> </STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY> <table class="bordercolor" border="0" align="center"> <tr> <?PHP include ("/home2/*removed*/public_html/external/new_header.php"); ?> </tr> <tr> <td class="leftside" valign="top"> <table class="leftside"> <?PHP include ("/home2/*removed*/public_html/external/main_menu.php"); ?> <?PHP include ("/home2/*removed*/public_html/external/latest_reviews.php"); ?> <?PHP include ("/home2/*removed*/public_html/external/advertisement.php"); ?> <tr><td><img src="../images/spacer.gif" border="0" width="140" height="0"></td></tr> </table> </td> <td class="mainarea"> <table class="mainarea" border="0" cellpadding="0"> <!--TABLE MAINAREA1 BEGINS--> <tr><td class="column_dvd" valign="TOP"> <table width="100%" border="0"> <!--Page Heading Section--> <tr><td class="description_dvd"> <center> <H2>THEATRICAL RELEASE SCHEDULE<br />Index Page</H1><br /><br /> </center> </td></tr> </table> <!--END Page Heading Section--> <table width="100%" border="0"><tr><td class="movie_artwork" colspan="2"> <!--Main Info START--> <center>This is the index page for the theatrical release schedule. Any help would be appreciated. Brian
  13. Nevermind. I've gone back to the text for now. I'm looking into using an image for the background rather than a logo image...
  14. It's this page (I created a separate page so that it won't look so odd when people enter using the regular index page): http://www.moviemansguide.com/index2.php I posted the other to show that just putting the text in there instead of the image that it aligns fine.
  15. After playing around a little bit, it seems it has to do with the image size, but still doesn't explain why it's fine on the one page but not the other since both are supposed to be the same width...
  16. Need help once again, lol. This is probably simple... I created a logo image and have it display on every page via a php include. While it shows up fine on the one page, it does not on my home page (the columns do not align). Now, I went into the code of my home page and just put the code in manually and fooled around with colspan and other things, but it shows up the same. However, when I simply remove the image and replace it with simple text, it displays like it should. Here's the code: ><td class="topheader" colspan="3" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <hr color="#cdcccc" width="99%"> <center><a href="http://www.moviemansguide.com"><img src="http://www.moviemansguide.com/images/header/logo02.jpg" width="650" height="70" border="0"></a></center> <hr color="#cdcccc" width="99%"> <img src="http://www.moviemansguide.com/images/spacer.gif" width="1" height="5"><br /> </td> There's nothing wrong with the class "topheader" either. Here are the 2 pages: This one is how it's supposed to look: http://www.moviemansguide.com/reviews/DVD/...hp?id=shootemup And here's the other: http://www.moviemansguide.com/index2.php I can't figure out why it's doing that. It looks like it's a column span issue but as you can see here: http://www.moviemansguide.com/, the code is the same but I replaced the image with text.
  17. I just checked my MySQL Permissions and somehow the user account I created specifically to just select the data had all its permissions checked... I don't know how that happened since I have another user account I use to do all the other things. I'll open a ticket and have them check and make sure everything is OK. Thanks guys.
  18. I've noticed when looking at my latest visitors via cpanel that some of them have another site URL attached to the end of some of my pages. Here's an example (I've removed the site name but if it helps, I could post it later or PM it or something): /reviews/2006/index.php?view=page&pagename=http://www.**SITENAME**.com/blog/wp.rss.txt?? /reviews/DVD/read.php?id=http://**SITENAME2**.ru/images/cs.txt? /reviews/movie/read.php?id=http://**SITENAME3**.ru/images/cs.txt? /reviews/DVD/read.php?id=http://**SITENAME4**.io/pb.php? Each of those are different sites. When clicking on the links, it doesn't take me to those sites, just gives me my 404 error or loads a blank template (which is mine). Should I be worried or is this normal?
  19. I've searched using Google but never really found a solution. When I try to edit a table using MySQLAdmin, I get an access violation: "Access violation at address 0034C1B0 in module 'libmysqlx.dll'. Read of address 00000000" Anyone encounter this and if so, know how to fix it? I was able to drop a table and I have proper permissions with the account I logged in with. Thanks in advance, Brian EDIT: Nevermind. I reinstalled MySQLAdmin and the problem has been corrected. This thread can be deleted if you like (or leave it for the future as I had searched for it here and nothing came up).
  20. Ok, found the right SQL format and got it done.
  21. I want to install a script so users can rate the movies I reviewed. The script I found makes sense but I don't know how to do something. The first step is easy: creating a table for the ratings. Each one will get its own id to go along with the associated item (in my case, review). Ok, what I want to do is use my review id as the id for the rating (so all I have to do is have it call the $id variable I've already set up). How can I copy every review id (I have a dvd reviews table) into the ratings id? BTW, in case its important, there are a total of 4 columns in the ratings table: id, total_votes (default 0), total_value (default 0) and used_ips After that, I think it should be easy (hopefully) as all I have to do is place the appropriate code and direct the javascript paths and such...
  22. Hello, I had a nice program to manage my databases but my motherboard failed and I decided to get a new computer at that time but now I can't find that program. My old system files were transferred over but nothing there rings a bell so now I need a new one (or perhaps something someone mentions will make me remember). So, any suggestions for a good (and free) program to manage databases? I know I can do it through cpanel (or used to) but I prefer to use another program. Thanks
  23. Ok, I've backed up my site via Cpanel and backed it up to the "Home Directory" like I had done before. However, I can't find it now. I went into my Home Directory via File Manager on Cpanel and the only one's on there are my backups from some time ago... Any idea where the ones I just did are? And yes, I know it got backed up since I received a confirmation e-mail stating so.
