  1. Dick DeVance was kind enough to enter the appropriate code and got it working.
  2. Which folder do I need to remove? And just to note, I don't think he was talking about permalinks, at the time I was getting these errors and didn't mention permalinks. Since my one blog didn't have a .htaccess file, I created a blank one, placed it in the blog's folder and made it writeable. Then I went into the permalinks section on the admin page and tried updating (it says it did) and I'm still getting the 404 error. I'm not sure what happened either because it was working earlier this week... Thing is, my other Wordpress site is working just fine.
  3. It's all been taken care of. Sorry about that, just start to panic, lol.
  4. Ok... and now all of the sudden my forum is gone!!! I certainly hope someone at the help desk is doing this because it literally was just there. *anxious* Edit: And back again and still a whopping 1.8GB... but the forum itself is not there (just a blank white page) when I load it. Nice.
  5. Well, now it says I'm using "2290.77/2400 MB" but that is still way too high. I think it was about 1700MB IIRC now (so actually over 50%). It also says my forum is using up 1.7GB of it... Edit: I then checked within the forums folder and the total at the bottom says: 360.41 MB (includes files at this directory depth) Nothing that unusual when looking at them...
  6. No, what I meant was once I deleted the .htaccess file, I no longer got the Forbidden error, I still get the same 404 errors as I did before... Edit: Ok, I just uploaded a blank .htaccess file and the permalink thing updates (via wp-admin) but I'm still getting the error. I had asked the Help Desk about it and this is what he said: "I have checked and found that "category" is missing under public_html. So please upload that directory under public_html using file manager or ftp. Please try it now and get back to us if you need any further assistance." I don't quite understand this especially since my blogs are in two separate directories and my other blog does not contain a "category" directory either...
  7. Ok, so I had submitted the ticket and just noticed the last response I got (about 45 minutes ago) that the status was "On Hold". Bruce, do you know what that means? I only ask because I've never seen that before in the times I've used the Help Desk.
  8. Nothing wrong with my mail folders, those are fine. TCH is investigating it and I did notice within my forum directory a ton of core.xxxxx files 25-28MB in size each in there. But they didn't just get in there over the past few days either. But I'll check the file manager... Edit to say that I'm still unsure how the usage went up so much in such a short time. I have not received any abnormally high attachments and have not uploaded any large files either.
  9. I opened a ticket about this, but has anyone encountered any time when your disk space usage dramatically went up? When I last checked mine, it was maybe 50% full (at best) and now it's a good 200NB over the limit. I have no idea where that came from. I'm looking through my folders and deleting old files I don't use anymore but I still cannot figure where it came from. According to Tech Support, 2GB of it is coming from my forum, is that too high? Could someone have had uploaded files?
  10. Unfortunately I don't have my .htaccess file set to writeable and cannot find it in that folder (my other blog has it). And when I created it with the code Wordpress gives me to make those changes, I get a Forbidden error so I deleted that .htaccess file (the page now loads fine).
  11. And I just checked and even the category links are not working and get a 404 error.
  12. Hey, I updated and now am having an issue with one of my Wordpress sites (I have 2 and the other one is fine)... When I click on the article header, I get a 404 error: "The requested URL /2009/08/12/trailer-watch-jennifers-body/ was not found on this server." (it's any one of them, not just this article) Here is the Wordpress URL: http://cinemanicchronicles.moviemansguide.com/ We're able to post and the posts show up on the front page but none of the actual links for them are working. Have any of you guys run into this? Edit: I just realized this is yet another update. I was only at 2.8.3, I'll see if this fixes it... Edit 2: Ok, upgraded and error still there. Would appreciate any help.
  13. Perfect! Thanks so much. Much better anyway so I can keep an eye on all my e-mails at once.
  14. Ok, I installed it. Haven't really dealt with Outlook or anything, when it asks for the server name and all that info, not sure what to put (Incoming Server, Outgoing Server). This option is much easier for me but not sure how it works.
  15. Yeah, I tried both Firefox, IE and MSN Explorer. Are there other programs I can use to check those e-mail addresses? Does Thunderbird work with e-mails for my website?
  16. Well, apparently the servers for both Horde and Squirrel are fine yet I still cannot get either to load. They suggested contacting my ISP but that wasn't much help ("I have checked your DSL line and do not see any line errors or issues that should cause any connection problems"). Anyone encounter a problem like this (generally, not for this necessarily). BTW, I did clear my internet cache.
  17. Hey, Anyone know if there's something wrong with the e-mail log in for either Horde or SquirrelMail? I can only access my site e-mails via Round Cube... Problem with that one is, when I try and delete any messages it tells me the message could not be moved...

  22. What kind of problems are they having?
  23. Ah, I see. Makes sense. I'm still kind of new to Wordpress.
  24. I used the auto upgrade yesterday. Took maybe 8-9 minutes but was pretty smooth.
