While reading through my daily Lockergnome newsletter today one of the articles was *Tracking Google and Googlebot Using PHP*. I have the googlebot php code on my site but thought I would read the article anyway. Most of the time Lockergnome has a short version with a link to the entire article. I was somewhat surprised to find it written by Mitch Keeler. Some of the longer time members of this forum may remember him. If you don't know about this php script, give it a read. Samantha, The only way to do that is to write the code the exact way CSB does. The point of my post was to show that it isn't necessary to specify the border attributes for every single table nor the font face,size and color for each and every cell. Thats where most of CSBs bloat comes from. As for making that layout in Front Page I can't help you there. I tried FP and it adds even more useless stuff than CSB,way more. I admit that was several years ago so FP may not add as much now. As i stated above I am not bashing CSB. I think its a very good program.

To start, I am not bashing CSB. In fact part of my site is built using CSB. Part built using Notepad. A couple of post in this thread talk about site builders adding extra code,all of them do. I got just a little curious about just how much extra code CSB adds. I know its a good bit from just looking at the source. As an example I made a basic page layout consisting of a header,left column,center content,right column and a footer . A couple extra cells thrown in the center content for my own interest. The basic layout using Notepad 1279 bytes http://www.cmg02.com/test1/table3.htm The basic layout using CSB 5261 bytes http://www.cmg02.com/test1/table2.htm A large amount of difference for such a small amount of code. On a large page this could add up fast to a very slow loading page.

1 laptop with Win ME Desktops: 1 old HP with win 3.11, 1 win98, 1 dual boot win ME and win XP, 1 dual boot with winXP and Mandrake(linux). I keep the old 3.11 around so younger people can have a laugh.

Looks like Ivans last turn to the north saved Baton Rouge a lot of pain. Winds of 25 to 35 mph(with higher gust) and some rain. New Orleans,only 62 miles from us had some strong winds and a few inches of rain but has improved some for now. We should get some heavier rain later tonight and tomorrow morning but nothing major. Bob I know just what you mean. I have a customer that I go to her house every 2 weeks and run her computers anti-virus,ad-aware and spy-bot. If she can't click on the Outlook icon or the blue E she is lost.I know she has had a computer for over 3 years and doesn't want to learn more. She would rather pay me than learn to do it herself. As long as she can send mail and get on the internet she is happy,as long as she pays me I'm happy. So M$ has made both of us happy.

I'll start by saying I do use Firefox and I like it. But the main point here is that most home pc users don't want to do any more than they have to. They want easy and simple. I deal with people daily that have no idea of whata search engine is. All they know is I can find things on Google or on Yahoo. And yes they will close out one and open a new browser window to go to the next. I spend alot of time cleaning up the mess people make on their computers. Most of the time it is because they don't understand what they are doing and they DO NOT want to learn how. Does that make them lazy. Yes. But I don't think I will gp so far as calling them stupid. In the last 6 months I have installed Firefox on probably 25 computers and explained to the users what it is and how to use it. Today,as far as I know, only 2 of those are still using Firefox. The rest went back to IE. Most will not even try Thunderbird. Reason given*I am not going to learn a new program that I may not like*. Bottom line is: Most home computer users only want to send email and surf the net.They are going to use whatever is easiest and fastest for them.What comes on their computer is what they learned and what they are going to stay with.

Well, everyone is having such a good time with this I thought I would give it a try. You know, its pretty darn close.

I use A-Squared . It finds things missed by Ad-Aware, Spybot,Pest Patrol,Spy Sweeper and a few others. The free version doesn't have as many bells and whistles as the paid version($30.00) and it takes some time to scan but its my choice for cleaning up spyware.

Cancer research and treatment have come a long way in the last few years. More and more people now beat this. As others have said never stop fighting and never,never give up. You can and will add your name to the list of survivors. My thoughts and well wishes are with you.

Bill, growing up and living in south Louisiana I've bass fished for as long as I can remember. Am I a serious bass fisherman? Well I have fished in local Tournaments since the early 70's tho not much in the last 4 or 5 years. I love to fish both fresh and salt water. I only have 4 tackle boxes and 6 or 7 fresh water rod and reels and I enjoy watching whats going on around me as much as the fishing so I guess I'm just an avid bass fisherman.
