Whoever you are, TCH Friend, I've added you to my prayer list and will be praying for you every day. You CAN beat this and your TCH family will be here for you every step of the way. Hang in there and don't lose hope.

I use the Anypassword program that Don mentioned and it works great! I highly recommend it.

I've been using the program Mike linked to for checking my gmail and it works great! There's also something called Pop Goes the Gmail, which is supposed to allow you to check your gmail through pop3. Here's the link to check it out. http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=169789 I haven't tried it so I have no idea how well it works. The gtray app Mike suggested works fine for me. By the way... I have a gmail invite available if someone still needs a gmail account. Ven

I don't know how blogging effects site ranking since I don't pay much attention to the whole ranking thing. I do know that blogs will generate a lot of traffic to your site and if you write good stuff and update regularly, people will keep coming back. Since I started blogging, I've seen a steady increase in traffic and I've also noticed that as my readership grows, I'm beginning to get links from other sites. People by nature are curious about other people and even a bit nosy. Reading someone's blog is like reading their diary without the worry of being caught. It's fun and you find a lot of interesting people out there. If you're like me and you like to write, blogging might be something you'd like. If you want it just for site ranking or traffic generation, it probably won't go very well. It takes a lot of consistent effort to keep a blog going and it takes time to build up a good following.

Poll - What Email Program Do You Use?
Venusian31 replied to dlevens's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
I use Pop Peeper to check mail and weed out junk and I use Outlook 2000 to download. I just got a gmail account today, so I'll be checking that out and I'm thinking of trying out Thunderbird as well. This forum sure is great for finding new software and other things to tinker with. -
0.9 has something wrong with it. I installed it and it worked for a few days and then I started having all kinds of problems with it. I uninstalled and reinstalled it but it still wouldn't work. I got fed up with it and went back to 0.8.

I started looking for a new host a few months ago when my old, expensive host started imposing limits on email accounts, number of MySQL databases, and other things that had always been unlimited. The last straw came when the site started experiencing down time every day and several tech issues remained unsolved for over 2 weeks. Mad!!! I had been following Lisa around on a few blogging forums because of all the good information she gives out and so I just followed her here, too. As soon as I saw the great prices and awesome service here, there was no more choice. I had to move to TCH and it's the best move I've ever made. Thanks Lisa! Thumbs Up My other host was so incompetent that I finally got an email from the tech department a week AFTER I closed my account with them telling me that my tech issues had been fixed. I laughed while emailing them back to tell them "thanks, but I closed my account with you guys a week ago. There's nothing there to fix."

Oh my! That's one place I definitely don't want to move to. I'd never survive heat like that. I'm definitely NOT a hot weather person. I turned my A/C on today because it got up to 75 degrees outside and it was too hot. My family always teases me about preferring to live in a refrigerator.

I hear you, Jim. It may seem harmless now, but it's creepy to think what it may eventually lead to, especially in a society where greed is slowly starting to override ethics or morality for some people.

How Easy Is It To Set Up A Reseller Account?
Venusian31 replied to Vancouver Lady's topic in Pre-Sales Questions
I can assure you the resellers account is very easy to work with. When I first got mine, I was worried that it might be too complicated but I haven't had a single problem with it. The tutorials Bruce mentioned are a great way to get started and if you ever need assistance or want to know how to do something, just ask here in the forums and you'll get an answer right away. Sometimes within minutes. TCH is definitely the best. -
I'm sure nobody will hold it against you Rob. Everybody has bad days. Hope you feel better soon. Ven

No problem here. Take as much time as you need. You guys do such a great job of taking care of the important things, I can afford to wait a while for the little extras. Thanks for great job you do guys! Ven

Welcome to TCH, Annie! Ven

Wow, just when I think TCH can't possibly get any better, IT DOES! Bill, TCH isn't even close to being competitive. You're just flat out beating the crap out of other hosting companies. They can't possibly compete with the awesome family you have here. Just to clarify, those of us who signed up prior to the new hosting packages, will we have to wait the 60-90 days and then request to be upgraded to the new packages or will our packages be upgraded to the new space and bandwidth amounts automatically? It's not a big deal to me yet since I'm not even close to using 20% of what I have so far. I just wanted to clarify the details for myself and anyone else who might want to know. Thanks again for the great news! Ven

I just tried it with my IE6 browser and it overlapped for me, too, but when I viewed it with FireFox, it shows up fine. It must be an IE thing. IE has a lot of problems sometimes.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I installed Firefox and it's great. All the browser problems, including the problem I was having with phpmyadmin in the control panel, have disappeared. I can't believe I put up with that IE crap for so long! Thanks so much for all your help. You guys are great! Ven

Help! I'm so sick of all the problems I have with my Internet Explorer browser. I want to switch to something else and need recommendations for a good browser to use on Windows XP. I've heard of Mozilla and Firefox but I don't know much about either. Which is better and why? Are there any other good ones to consider? Also, if I install a new browser without removing Internet Explorer, will that cause a problem? Will these other browsers allow me to import my favorites list from IE? Any and all suggestions welcome. Thanks, Ven

Thanks for all the help guys. Mike was right. The Invision Board installer wasn't enabled on my server. That's why it wasn't showing up anywhere in my control panel. I submitted a ticket to the help desk and it was fixed in no time. TCH is awesome! Ven

How Long Does It Take To Active An Account
Venusian31 replied to wangs8's topic in Pre-Sales Questions
When I signed up for my account this morning, it was up and running in less than 45 minutes. TCH has the best service of any company I've ever tried. I'm definitely here to stay! Ven -
Thank you, Mike!

Hi Guys! I've finally got my resellers account and I've got two domains on it. I was looking into the possibility of installing an Invision board on each of my 2 sites but I don't see the install option in either of my control panels. I looked under Bulletin Boards and the only option there is to install the phpbb. I also looked under CGI Center and Scripts Library and don't see Invision Board there either. Am I looking in the wrong place? Or is the Invision Board something that tech support would need to install? I hope someone can help me figure this out. I'm so excited about getting my sites up and running so they'll be ready to go by the time the domain names switch over. Thanks guys! Ven

I've been watching you guys for the last few days, checking out your services and reading the forums to learn more about you, and I'm convinced you are the best hosting service out there. I happened to be wandering around in here when I suddenly I got "server not found" errors and your site apparently went down. It came back up very quickly and I went to the server issues forum and was amazed to see that you had ALREADY communicated with your customers about the server outages. What awesome service! I've been having several problems with my current host for the last 6 days and they still haven't gotten it fixed and the only communication I get from tech support is being told to "hang tight" and they will get to me. Well, no more "hanging tight" for me. I get paid on Friday and I plan on moving in with you guys on Saturday. What a great day for a server outage! Thanks guys! Did you do that just to show me how great you are?
