Rock Sign Rock Sign Rock Sign Rock Sign Rock Sign Rock Sign After a terrible year with another host I set out to find a new webhost. I decided on Total Choice Hosting. Giving up the ability to phone in for problems was hard to do but I thought it would be the right choice... Well after a few months I must tell you that I can't believe how GREAT TCH is. The community is wonderful, the service is excellent and I now prefer the ticket/messenger/forum based support, it really works. Instead of calling in with problems, talking to a live person, then waiting forever to get problems solved..... TCH actually takes care of whatever is needed, and right quick!! I have a few sites I help friends with and I have gotten then all moved to TCH or had them start service here. If you are thinking of switching to TCH all I can say is, stop thinking and switch!!! Very happy customer, Scott webmaster for: playgroundpros.com ibp-west.com darkcrest.com riderschoiceusedbikewarehouse.com and to think this webmastering stuff is supposed to be a hobby of mine

I had the same problem once Took a complete reformat and reinstall To save the data you could put the drive in another computer as a slave to try to get the info off of it, but beware of viruses that could have been part of the problem. All of the programs will look like they are there but with the registry crash most wont work

Forwarding To More Than One Recipient
scotttyz replied to wigoweb's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
Yes, I do this on my site. Just set up multiple forwarders i.e.: forwardmail@domain.com TO: email1@domain.com forwardmail@domain.com TO: email2@domain.com forwardmail@domain.com TO: email3@domain.com forwardmail@domain.com TO: email4@domain.com forwardmail@domain.com TO: email5@domain.com rinse and repeat S -
FYI cpanel login and password are listed as mandatory info fields to start a ticket Might be a little confusing for someone without thier welcome email

Email - Forwards - Autoresponders
scotttyz replied to scotttyz's topic in CPanel and Site Maintenance
But my understanding is that to use an autoresponder that there has to be a physical email address at (her@domain.com) if so then I still have an email account to work with. Could I use a forward and an autoresponder with an acual email add?? PS we are not concerned with personal emails sent to this address they will get passed along with everything else to the (another@domain.com) -
Hello, We have one of our main office people who is leaving the company. We would like to have 2 things happen. 1) Forward any mail sent to her (her@domain.com) to another user (another@domain.com) 2) Send an auto responder like: >Her is no longer here, we wish her the best in her future endeavors. For any correspondence you previously sent to this address please email to another at mailto:another@domain.com A copy of your email has automatically been forwarded to another; please update your contact list for future correspondence. So my question is how best to set this up. I need a physical email add to use an auto responder (so the instructions say) then I use a forward (?) and dump the contents every few days thru Cpanel? I don’t want to just forward the email without letting the sender know there has been a change in staff. And I want to be able to delete (her@domain.com) in a month or so. Any ideas? An old host had an options for something like this, a forward with auto responder that was not a physical email box. Not sure how to proceed

so can I ONLY add user @mydonaim.com? or can I use @someotherdomain.com also (add customers using thier email?)

When adding an FTP account in Cpanel (i.e. Username) it adds (Username@****) is there a way to add FTP user accounts without the full email address????

I have read in other places that PHP will use the user of apache in some (if not many) cases and the file can only be read by PHP

I am working on my first home-grown MySQL database. Would like some advice on how to handle files uploaded and permissions. We will have CAD files (and jpg images) that would be "uploaded" to a directory via an "add DB record" php page. The files need to be viewable to PHP/FTP/HTTP users. i.e I add a record with all the info and "Browse..." to the CAD and jpg files. the php webpage adds the DB entry and uploads the files to my specified directory. The files would have 3 ways for a user to get them, via FTP, via MySQL search (given a link) and via HTTP (I am using e-dir). Am I correct that files uploaded by PHP are assigned the owner of apache and are unreadable to other users? If this is correct is there an easy way around this? I would like to have 1 page to add the complete information, and not have a user have the need to ftp the files and enter the SAME info for the DB record, you all know how carefull most users are, lmoa.
