  2. Congrats Bonnie!!!! I know you'll do an awesome job!!
  3. Our sympathy and lots of prayers to his family and friends.
  4. Changing the div names didn't work, but you are correct that it was inheriting the margins from the left div. I went in and specifically set the margins for the header div and that finally fixed it. I don't really understand css inheritance rules from one div to the next (yet) but that's something I'll have to keep in mind as I continue to tweak this. I think I'd better bring my css "bible" home from work for a while! Thanks for your help!!
  5. That did solve part of it - thank you. Here's the main puzzle for me, though... See the spaces before Blog and Links? I'm sure it's my CSS somewhere because when I detach the template, it's fine.
  6. That just brought the nav line to the top of the header "box." Note the extra spacing within the text before most every one of them, but particularly after About Us and This n That. Thanks though Bruce!
  7. Can anyone shed some light on why the top navigation on my homepage would have extra spaces here and there? There's nothing on the include page that would cause it, nor can I find anything in my index page or css, but obviously I'm missing something somewhere... Index page: http://www.gryfalia.com SSI page: http://www.gryfalia.com/sidenav.htm Thanks!!
  8. I'm afraid I gave up The help that was given on the SMF thread was, I'm sure, quite logical and accurate. However, it was over my head. Obviously there's something wrong with the mod and how it works with the latest version. I don't think installing it manually as they suggest is going to solve the problem - every component of the installation showed successful, and the options are in the admin section - there just aren't any descriptions by the check boxes to know what to enable. I'll have to keep an eye out for an updated version.
  9. Thanks Thomas I had tried uploading my backup copy of the file but that didn't fix it, but once I got a clean copy it was ok. The mod still isn't working, but at least I'm not getting errors anymore. I'm working with people on the SMF boards for my current issue because it seems to be a known problem.
  10. I have the 1.1.3 version of Simple Machine Forums on one of my sites and I installed the Karma Description Mod through the program's package manager. All the tests were successful and it seemed to go smoothly, but the mod wasn't working even though it said it was active. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled, and now when I click on applaud or smite, I get the error, "Unable to load the 'main' template" Trying to uninstall now gives me a warning regarding my karma.php file. Does anyone have some advice for a mostly php-ignorant user? Many thanks!
  11. Thanks Thomas - looks great!

  13. Hubby and I were there last March, and I second the recommendation for Red Rock Canyon. It's a very easy 20 or 25 mile trip west of town to the 13-mile scenic drive. We were in Vegas for four days and drove out twice. The Sunday brunch at the Paris is wonderful!!! We also stayed at the South Coast (gotta love the $2.95 steak and egg breakfast or $1.25 pancakes, eggs, and ham!) but we walked through several of the theme hotels up on the strip. I was surprised how much I enjoyed Vegas. Hope you have a great time!
  14. I had never seen cpanel before joining TCH, and I'm still a novice at most things, but that's ok because when I decide I want to do something, I read up, try it out, and get help here if I hit a roadblock. If I want people to do my work for me, I'd better be willing to pay accordingly. I'll never be a brilliant web designer or techie, but I don't think figuring out how TCH works was all that difficult at all. You just have to make an effort.
  15. Bespin's still giving errors for e-mail and sql....though main site is up.
  16. I'm very sorry Thomas. Sympathy and hugs to you.
  17. I'm so sorry Thomas. My thoughts are with you and your furbaby....
  18. Way cool Bill!!!!! I'm so happy that TCH has come this far. Great job!
  19. But of course...going to pick up two copies tonight. As for new servers, nope. We're sticking to the three we currently play on.
  20. I noticed the same thing. Even though I may only have five visitors in a day, my latest visitors is only showing current day stats.
  21. Yes thank you, I did search there first. They had no solution that applied to me or worked. That's why I was asking here if anyone had encountered it. But it doesn't matter anymore - I found someone else who helped.
  22. I just upgraded from 1.0.8 to 1.1 through their webinstall program, and now at the bottom of my forum I have the following: Sorry, the copyright must be in the template. Please notify this forum's administrator that this site is using an ILLEGAL copy of SMF! Great. I use THEIR program and get an error. Anyone else encounter this?
  23. Congratulations! Lots of prayers for you and your family!
  24. My condolences to you on your loss.
