Just thought of one difference, Here I am defining the variable in the 'test' file and then passing that as a variable to the header script. Not defining it in the header script. I will try that. Andy

I've just setup a dummy file where I set the document title equal to the variable PHP_SELF and it works for me including the directory it is in. Can you give an example of when it doesn't work? Andy

the www directory is, in effect, a shortcut to the public-html directory. If you have deleted it, then you will probably need to submit a help desk ticket to sort things out. Always safer not to delete the files that you are not sure about. What is you domain name? Andy

Doest Tch Provide Smtp Server With Authorisation?
TCH-Andy replied to LinuxHata's topic in Pre-Sales Questions
LinuxHata, The short answer is yes. I use the POP3 and SMTP at TCH from a couple of different providers, it requires authorisation and works fine. I always send through TCH rather than through the local provider. You can also use webmail (squirrelmail, Horde or Neomail) which are provided as standard if you want to. Hope that helps. Andy -
If I can put Rickvz comments in different words, Although you upload your files into the public-html directory, when you goto your site with a web browser and type in "http://yourdomain" it will automaticaly go into the public-html directory and find the file "index.htm" or "index.html". Andy

Can you provide a link to the postcard script you are using (as far as I am aware there are several available, and I'm not sure which one you are using). If you look in your error log (in Cpanel) what is the name of the file that is not found? Andy

I have been hit by Google a lot over the last week (all Freshbot, but downloaded just about the whole site 3 times) My ranking on most google pages changed on Sunday, and since then the number of visitors has quadrupled - consistently since Sunday. I'm not complaining in the slightest woooot Just slightly surprised that all this has happened without a deepbot or a 'dance'. This all happened after my latest lot of changes following advise by our resident SEO - thanks Thought I'd pass on the news for info. Andy

First silly question - have you uploaded the css.css file to the site - because Dreamweaver is seeing in, but not when live. The file doesn't seem to exist on your site - another option could be spelling... Yes, found it. It is case sensitive. The file is CSS.CSS on the server, you need to set it to lower case 'css.css' then it will all work happily (either that or set the source code to 'CSS.CSS', but I prefer it all lower case) Andy
