  1. Welcome home, Erika! Keep your virus definition files up to date!!!!!! My shout for the day. Unless you see yourself getting bombarded with viruses through your domain's email address, there really isn't anything to report to TCH.
  2. Arsen, is your problem now resolved or do you still need help with something? Please post back with a followup so that we know you've been taken care of.
  3. Per the relative path, you may want to try this instead if the /images directory is within the public_html directory: ../images/imagename.gif the ../ part will take it back to public_html/ no matter where the page is in the site. Such as, say you have a page at public_html/sub/page.html and on that page you refer to an image that is stored in public_html/images/imagename.gif. You can reference that source as I did above.
  4. Yes, that is what I found most useful. I didn't have all my links in the excel sheet, and some scattered across 3 pc's, but none on all. Now I'm at least somewhat secure and organized all in one freebie!
  5. Ask and ye shall receive...Mike's on the ball! Server 55: http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i...p?showforum=163
  6. Better him that the other 15 folks that were going to 'suggest' it again. Ok, suggestions? Let's see: er um hmmm <cough> well. Seems all my bright ideas are either already implemented or not within our control.
  7. From my perspective, and I KNOW everybody's gonna laugh at me... This program absolutely blows away my previous password keeper: MS Excel worksheet UNPROTECTED on my LaCie portable drive (small enough that anyone could walk off with) in a file called: Accounts.xls Now, for me, this password protected password keeper is a huge leap forward.
  8. You're welcome and good luck!
  9. It appears that your domain registration is also expiring soon. You should contact the registrar or registering agent as soon as possible and ensure that the domain is paid for, even if dropping your hosting package with them...those are two exclusively different items. Most registrars will not allow you to transfer your domain within 30 or 60 days of a renewal/expiration. So the current host is who you need to contact. If that email address is correct for contacting YOU, then it appears you should not have any issues. To avoid the 'child's-play', I might suggest contacting the host and requesting the renewal of the domain and then once that's done and you have access to change the name servers to TCH, THEN tell them you'll be cancelling your hosting account.
  10. Unfortunately, not only have I seen it, but quite a few times. You should do a WhoIs query on your domain to see what contact info is listed first....If you are indeed listed as the Admin Contact, then all should go pretty smoothly. Click here to do a WhoIs query. If you'd like to share your domain name with us, we can also look to see what kind of issues you may have and who you might contact.

    Yay!

Tiny Wizard, Kudos to you and having a plan! It's nice to see a 16 year old with a plan, especially one of such civic good-will. Here's to you and making your dream come true.
  12. Yes, Thomas. You can create your site in whatever language you choose.
  13. First, phpNuke can be installed directly through cPanel for your convenience. It's fairly easy to setup your site, but I strongly suggest reading the phpNuke documentation so that you understand all of the pieces-parts. Any questions that you then have can be asked here on the forums and family members can help you sort it out (the application itself is third-party and therefore not supported by TCH staff). How difficult is it to switch hosts? Well, it's rather simple actually and in your circumstance, it may be even easier... You write that your current host uses cPanel? If so, then after sign up, you should do two things: 1. Change the Name Servers for your domain at your registrar to the name servers given in your "Account Created" email (you'll receive this 12-24 hours after sign up). 2. Put in a helpdesk ticket requesting the existing site be transferred by our techs. They will take care of copying the existing site to your new account here. Note this is ONLY if your current host uses cPanel. Hope that helps.
  14. Tiny Wizard, Thanks for the kind words and we're very glad that you've been satisfied with your experience here.
  15. Welcome home!
  16. You will need to submit a helpd desk ticket and request the domain setup on your account be changed to the domain that you just set the name servers for.
  17. Santolina, Unlike many webhosts, TCH would be considered "CuteSITE Builder-friendly" Not only is it possible to publish here, but there are lots of us 'cute' users ready to help if you have problems of any kind.
  18. Thanks for the kind words Gary! We're glad you are happy iwth the services and support here. Now be sure to tell all of your friends.
  19. Gotta admire your honesty, Bonnie! Don't feel silly....I was perched upon the "X" with the mouse pointer too!
  20. You're too cute.
  21. Welcome home Jeremy!
  22. Perfect sense and that's where I was going with my first thought. The big image to which I refer is only 20K compressed anyway, so not a huge consequence to make the alterations to it, rather than doing the slice work.
  23. costello, I just sent you a private message here with the info.
  24. Raul, re: the hijack page...no, it just took me several seconds to realize what the page actually was and that it was a part of your site. Just didn't want folks to get freaked out when they got there and then just hurry close the page because they thought they really had been hijacked and bad things would come if they didn't leave right away. Does that make sense? re: image map, yes, that's exactly what I was talking about.... Say I have a large image on my home page and I want a portion of that image to display the random image generated....k, hang on, I'm making this much more difficult than necessary aren't I? Resolution: the large image should be the one with multiple versions and then randomized. (Sorry for my babbling everyone.) Anyway, you answered my question perfectly. Thanks!
  25. And now that I've read your How-to, I have a question. Let's say I want to use a mapped area of a single page on a website, instead of implementing this as an avatar on a forum...
