Here is what I would like to see, although this is more of a cpanel issue than a TCH issue. As a reseller, I use the feature manager to restrict the cpanel of clients to only certain things, like add/remove mail accounts mainly, if I am managing their website. If they manage their own website, of course they get the entire cpanel. Anyway, on the restricted cpanel, whenever I need to do something that is in their cpanel, like database or subdomains, I have to go into whm and edit their account to full cpanel, make changes and edit their account back to restricted cpanel. It would be nice to have the restricted cpanel when they login with their username and their password, and then get the full cpanel with I login with their username and MY password. Currently when I log in with their username and MY password, it is the same restricted cpanel, although it does tell me "Warning: you are logged in with reseller password", which is nice.

Yes, this would be nice. However, I think there is a way to do that with a cronjob if you know the linux command. Run it once with the cronjob and then delete the cronjob.

Wow, that looks a very handy piece of info to have! Thanks TCH-Dick!!!

Tch Domain Name Purchase, Pay To Transfer?
jandafields replied to paingold's topic in Open Discussion
You will pay a yearly fee for the domain name and a monthly fee for the hosting. There are no other fees involved. You do not pay to have it transfered to the TCH account. If you purchased the domain and the hosting both through TCH, it will be done automatically. It usually takes a few days for the domain name to start working... -
So you "found" an ebook to sell. Was it in your closet or something?...

With SA2 enabled, if you sent an email with an attachment with a banned extensior (like exe or url), it would write the returning headers incorrectly and the email would go to cpaneluser@serverxx.totalchoicehosting.com instead of either the sender or receiver. So, the sender thinks it went through, and the receiver never gets it. All fixed now, though...

The Family-forums are reserved for special people only. If you consider yourself to be very very special, PM a mod and they will give you a password if they also deem you to be a special person.

Graphic & Website Designers - Client Management?
jandafields replied to runninghorse's topic in Looking for......
Use Quicken for businesses! It is not expensive. It keeps track of customers, creates invoices based on your hourly or custom rates, prints checks, reminds you of bills you owe, payments from customers, deposits, its great! When you really get going, step up to Quickbooks. -
I like to keep keylogger-viruses and the blaster-virus on my computer just for fun too, you know...

According to ICANN rules, I think you can only buy an IP address if you have a dedicated server or you have bought a SSL certificate.

How ancient is your system? It can't handle over 1Mbps? Many new machines come with 1000Mbps LAN ports and handle them fine.

What makes BSD better than Debian? I thought Debian was the best distro available. I don't know anything about BSD, although I have had lots of 1-on-1 with BSOD.

Congratulations!!! Nobody is linking to your website...

Is Your Email Account Ever Hacked? Which?
jandafields replied to K_M's topic in Security Discussions
Wow! Just imagine all the info she has gotton from you in your sleep, and hasn't told you about... -
Anyone can send email to anyone they want and make it have your FROM address and Name on it. When I setup Outlook Express, it asks for my FROM email address, I could just as easily put yours there if I wanted to. Then, everything I send will be from you. The average person will have no idea how to tell it wasn't really from you, and they will 100% believe it was from you. Viruses do the exact same thing. They put your address in the FROM address, and lots of other peoples in the TO address. Those other people will 100% believe it is from you. Unfortunatly, there is nothing you can do to stop it. The best thing to do is to educate everyone that complains to you about the emails you supposedly sent. The Yahoo! servers are very secure. They have so many accounts that they are responsible for, one hack could put Yahoo! all over the news in a bad way. And, with so many accounts in Yahoo!, the chances of someone targeting you is quite slim.

Does Anyone Have A Recommendation Where To Find
jandafields replied to rnmcd's topic in Open Discussion
I LOVE to do freelance stuff, but sadly I have NO time for it -
According to that excert, I guess you could register a domain name of another company if you were not trying to make a profit from it and if you were willing to sell it to them for your out-of-pocket costs if they ever asked you for it. Why would you want to do this though? Maybe for the extreme thrill, I don't know...

They can both do pretty much the same thing. PHP is easier to learn and has more built-in functions Perl has more complex string manipulation.

I've heard decent things about "ChiliSoft ASP" for Linux. Not free though. It may be more beneficial to rewrite your scripts in Perl/PHP though. They run well on Linux and PC. And, FREE!!!
