  3. Welcome to the forums Xantith Maybe it would be easier to edit the .htaccess file right on the server. Use the File manager in cPanel. Most FTP clients will not show hidden files by default. Also the .htaccess file is a text file and must be uploaded to the server in ASCII mode. I make my changes using the editor in the file manager.

  13. cgi scripts need to be set to 755 on permissions for them to work. Using an FTP client or the file manager in cpanel, locate the script and change the permissions. If you use cpanel you have to check the boxes. First set should all be check, second and third sets the read and execute boxes should be checked.

  18. I meant how often do the servers slow down drastically, or something occur on your end that would result in long load times I've been here over two years and have never seen a slowdown. most all of my includes I beleive are local, however i think i should check on them just to find that out. I got an update from my current webhost at their forums telling the users witht eh slowdown problems that its probably mySQL usage thats slowing the server, so my new question is does that even happan here? And thanks for all you help so far If you are making excessive queries I suppose it's possible to slow the server down. But if that were the case you would be notified.
