I run several wordpress blogs and have never had a problem with receiving comment notifications. Under the Options General tab make sure you have a valid email address. Under the Options Discussion tab make sure the checkbox to be notified when anyone posts a comment is checked. I run version 1.5.2 of Wordpress. Do you have any plugins installed that chould be preventing your comment emails?

I would hold off on that help desk ticket until that server is completely restored. The techs have their hands full restoring the rest of the accounts.

Please open a ticket with the help desk, they may be able to retrieve something from the failed drive if they can get it to function. Aside from that, your data is your responsibility as Bob mentions. When ever I make any changes to my sites I always backup before starting and then once again when I have the changes I want them.

Thanks Paul Everyone running phpBB should be keeping their installation current.

I tried this on a test blog and it works as advertised. 1. Create an email account to post to in your domain 2. Edit Wordpress to use the email address you want it to read 3. You must run the wp-mail.php file in your Wordpress install folder to have it capture the email from the account. (this can be set up to run in Cron periodically after you get it to pull in the email running it manually). One thing I found out is the body of the email will not be captured unless the email is sent in plain text format. You might want to read this Wordpress Wiki post

How about all these themes as a starting point?

Wordpress is a snap to install. We even have instructions on the help site.

Several places on their site say that it is not recommended to install this CMS on a shared hosting account.

If you ran a trace route and you are getting time outs before reaching your mail server "yes" that is most likely the problem. Copy the trace route and open a support ticket with the help desk explaining the problem. They may have some ideas.
