It should be working. Only other suggestion I could think of is to open a support ticket with the help desk and ask them to have a look. They don't support 3rd party software but it's worth a shot.

Hmm, very strange. In my Permalinks setting I use this structure >/archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ And for archives I use >/category Which looks like what you chose. Did you let Wordpress do the updating or did you use the copy/paste method? When I did it, I used copy/paste. May want to try that. It could be that the update was not successful.

Have a link to your site? And does the page you are getting a 404 on happen to be a page and not a post?

Welcome to the forums John Yes, WP will create the mod_rewrite commands for you. You can follow these steps below. 1. Open File Manager in cPanel and browse your blog folder. 2. Highlight the .htaccess file and change the permissions to 666 3. Go into your blog's Site Admin 4. Select Options and then Permalinks 5. Set up your structure for archive and category links to use 6. Click where is says Upate Pemalink Structure 7. Test view your site to be sure it is working the way you want 8. Go back to File Manager and change the permissions of the .htaccess file back to 644 If you don't want Wordpress to update your .htaccess file you can also copy/paste the mod_rewrite statements from Wordpress to your .htaccess file manually. That's pretty much it.

That is correct. Only one domain can be hosted per account (excluding parking or reseller accounts).

True, I only use the cron backups for databases that change daily.

JT, the mods (myself included) do not have access to the servers or your account info. Please open a help desk ticket with support and I am sure they can resolve this quickly.

Welcome to the forums. You have to park domains using the help desk on virtual accounts. Reseller accounts allow you to park and add-on domains. Hotlink protection is included in cpanel. A domain name is required to have an account. You are not permitted to use the IP number to reach your site and content except prior to propagation. And the address and telephone number are required to prevent fraud. You will be provided with 2 DNS servers. If one goes down the other will resolve your names instantly. I've been here over 3 years and have never had a DNS issue.

Welcome to the forums IndigoJo You will receive an email when your bandwidth reaches 80% of your alloted plan. You need to act on that message when you get it otherwise your site will be suspended when it reaches 100% until the following month. If your site is causing severe loads on the server your site will be suspended until the script causing the load is removed or fixed. These are shared servers and the policy is in place to to protect all on the server. I'm sure you would not want your site to be unreachable if a neighboring account was causing problems. The help desk will work with you to resolve problems. If your account is compromised or hacked all content will possibly be removed to protect the other clients on the server as well as the server itself.

Of all the Windows OS versions to be released I like XP the best. I've used 2000, NT4 and still use 98 on one machine in our office. Of course it's probably not so much XP that I like but the newer faster machines I run it on.

Rob, you are partially right about getting people to change but I think Bob's point is correct. Until you can buy a Linux box in a store bring it home and plug it in and start using it people aren't going to go there. You know *nix, I know *nix and it's not as simple as plug 'n pray like Windows is.

Thanks Russell. Happy Thanksgiving to you and the rest of the TCH extended family. What time is dinner? I'm getting hungry.

I have started a world map of TotalChoiceHosting users. You can see who else is using TotalChoiceHosting and where they live (country etc) http://www.frappr.com/totalchoicehosting It is easy to add yourself to the map. http://www.frappr.com/totalchoicehosting#addyourself Enter your name, location and a message about yourself. A picture is optional. You can add to your description or add a picture at a later date. You are not asked to enter any private information about yourself.

running (not that I would ever! )

>30 3 * * * /usr/bin/php -q /home/yourCpanelid/user/backup.php If you placed the backup.php script into the root of "user" it would look as above. If it's in a subfolder of "user" just add the path to /user above (IE: /user/bin)

>30 3 * * * /usr/bin/php -q /home/yourCpanelid/some_folder/backup.php You create a folder at the same level as public_html and copy your backup PHP script into it.
