Why not just continue to use the software? I found KeepSecured but it's not free.

There is a gallery 2 plugin for Wordpress and it works well.

Let's make a few things clear. 1. TCH did not put these scripts together. Fantastico is an addon to cPanel and the people that package Fantastico decide what to include. Now TCH can control which of these scripts you will be allowed to install. 2. It is always the customer's responsibility to be sure that the scripts (programs) they install into their web space are secure and current. There are several scripts included in Fantastico that have been upgraded by the people that have developed them. Eventually Fantastico will be updated with those versions. If however the said script becomes a pay for use script there will be no update in Fantastico.

I am one of those 30% that doesn't touch the stuff.

I used to run Movable Type and now I use Wordpress so my opinion will be biased. There are plenty of themes out there for both and you can certainly create your own. If you are comfortable with CSS you will have no problems making it look the way you want. You could try both, it will only cost you some time.

Welcome to the forums Tom. I see no reason why you couldn't install Wordpress to do that. Or any other blog software, Movable Type, Blogger (and publish to your web space here) or any of the others out there. What ever you decide create a sub-domain in your web space and install/run from there. You can have links back to your main site.

The absolute path does not begin with "http:" it would be >/home/cpanel-name/public_html/path-to-file

If you have done no changes to the script and it's no longer working please open a ticket with the help desk and ask the techs to investigate. Link at top of page or in my signature.

If you are wanting to install a copy of Moodle you need one of the packages from this page: http://download.moodle.org/

I'm not sure what you are wanting to do. CVS is a revision control system. It's for maintaining source code changes. Unless you have your own server I do not believe you can do this as it requires shell access.
