  1. I also really appreciate that this was emailed My question is on MYSQL...is anything changing their or is that fairly seamless? Do you recommend anything for those of us heavy database driven? I know one of our sites is running PHP4...actually 2 of them. So the challenge is going to be re-writing the script...and having this coincide with Thanksgiving compounds the problem. I'm going to be traveling 11-23 to 12-3...so if the site is down or broken (I'm on server 21) I won't be able to do anyting about it How will we test the script if we aren't even on PHP 5 now? Anyone know of a good scripter for PHP 5?
  2. How is it that my site can be live, but my C-panel is not accessible? As a reseller with multiple domains...I can access ALL other C-panels...but not my main one? This makes no sense. I even looked at the Server Monitoring and it says everything is LIVE. So why would I be getting: The page cannot be found The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please try the following: If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly. Open the stayhome.com:2082 home page, and then look for links to the information you want. Click the Back button to try another link. Click Search to look for information on the Internet. HTTP 404 - File not found Internet Explorer I put in a HelpDesk ticket...but wondering what could cause this issue on one site and not the others?
  3. Oh...interesting...I didn't think the registrar had anything to do with this?I'm currently using GoDaddy...is there a particular registrar I need? I was told I needed a Domain host because it is strictly the www records...not the mail server. This technician works with RackSpace regularly and told me he has several clients that RackSpace has re-directed this way.
  4. I have a technician who built a site that has lots of bells and whistles... in our discussions, he said he would host on his server...but I still need to host the mail aspects. So he is requesting I point the www. a record to an IP address... Has anyone heard of this before? He said he doesn't have nameservers, as they don't plan to go that far.
  5. Would TCH ever consider adding WordPress automatic install via Fantastico to our Control Panel? I notice other hosts are starting to do that. Hands down...it's the best!
  6. THANKS Good to know on both counts.
  7. I am trying to send an email to my Mother about my pending trip and it bounces everytime? Here's what I get on the header: Envelope-to: cheryl@**** Delivery-date: Thu, 29 Sep 2005 00:56:44 -0400 Received: from mailnull by server21.snhdns.com with local (Exim 4.52) id 1EKqTM-0006px-LJ for cheryl@****; Thu, 29 Sep 2005 00:56:44 -0400 X-Failed-Recipients: mymom@aol.com Auto-Submitted: auto-generated From: Mail Delivery System <Mailer-Daemon@server21.totalchoicehosting.com> To: cheryl@**** Subject: Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender Message-Id: <E1EKqTM-0006px-LJ@server21.totalchoicehosting.com> Date: Thu, 29 Sep 2005 00:56:44 -0400 I was sending thru webmail...and here's what the message says: This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: mymom@aol.com SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection: host mailin-01.mx.aol.com [205.188.159.57]: 554 (RLY:B1) http://postmaster.info.aol.com/errors/554rlyb1.html When I follow the link aol gave for the error it says: Error 554 RLY:B1 554 RLY:B1 http://postmaster.info.aol.com/errors/554rlyb1.html EXPLANATION: This error message is a dynamic block on our system. Dynamic blocks are placed on an IP address when AOL member complaints go over our set threshold. These are automated blocks that are removed by the system within 24 hours if the complaints are below the threshold. So WHO on my server is sending spam...as I hardly ever use this email address to send...it's more of a personal account than my businesses. Edit: TCH-Bruce Removed domains and other sensitive data to prevent spam harvesting
  8. What's a Blog? Did I miss something...was I sleeping when TCH added another feature?
  9. I saw the news on this, too...so is this going to be worthwhile? It amazes me how spyware is a bigger issue than viruses. I don't use Outlook ( luv Pegasus) so viruses never get me...but spyware seems to almost be a browsing thing and maybe I do too much of that
  10. I was...but it was only temporary...I'm on Server 21. Not sure why we have to subscribe to the Server Updates...and when I tried it told me I was already a member...but it doesn't let me check?
  11. Ok...this is too strange...I know my password...and you have confirmed it...so why when I try on another computer it gives me the password pop-up...3 times and then converts to the page log-in and the username and password always come back wrong? I can log-in to the c-panel on this computer...but I needed it for my laptop for a meeting I leave for at 7am...and now I am sleepless in SA
  12. What do you do if you lose your c-panel password?
  13. I'm looking at a script that is telling me I need Zend Optimizer 2.0 or higher as it automatically backs up MYSQL, so I don't have to think about it. I'm noticing this being required more and more on different scripts...is this installed as I'm also seeing hosts start to proclaim it? Thanks. I couldn't find a site where I could actually buy it, so I think it has to be part of the hosting itself.
  14. No, this is someone I know, they know me and we exchange emails. I just hit reply to respond...so unless he typoed...guess I need to call him. That's why the message baffles me. If it was a spammer or other unknown...I would delete!!
  15. Has anyone ever seen this kind of message and know what it means? Can't seem to email this guy from any of my domains? This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: Yuck! xxxx@bigzoo.net SMTP error from remote mailer after MAIL FROM:<cheryl@freedomteamwork.com> SIZE=3887: host mail.bigzoo.net [65.113.30.59]: 501 5.7.1 <cheryl@freedomteamwork.com>... Sender refused by the DNSBL proxies.relays.monkeys.com Keeps sending this message no matter what domain I use.
  16. Effective tonight each TCH staff member and mod will have thier avatar replaced with a photo of themselves. **And may I say...what a handsome staff we do have ADDING NEW PLANS TO THE LINEUP! ** Hip Hip Hooray!!!! Any current TCH customer wanting to move to their own server can do so at an additional 10% reduction in cost. We will also include the semi-managed plan at no extra charge. **For someone who doesn't understand what this means...can you explain? Why would a customer WANT their own server? At what point would this be a good decision? What is a semi-managed plan? 2004 is turning out to be a amazing year for TCH. Rock Sign
  17. HEY!!! Our head Guy decided to drop the Halloween costume...anyone notice that *cute* mug?

Anyone know?
  19. Hey Richard: Thanks for the help on the form code...except it STILL will NOT redirect? ...now it goes to: http://www.aepmusic.com/cgi-bin/FormMail.pl ???? http://www.aepmusic.com/ Any ideas? Cheryl
  20. I'm having trouble with form code...I am not sure what I need to get the submission to re-direct to the page I want it to go to after they hit submit? 21. NOT Fair Halloween is WAY over! Would the Real Bill Kish, please show his face! (begging and pleading)
  22. It may be Halloween TODAY...but 12:01am makes it November 1st! Wouldn't be fair if he still is wearing a costume! So what do you think about MY picture? Thumbs Up Cheryl
  23. Since I am in Business and *never* know who is going to want to send me email, I chose earthlink as my ISP and they have *Bright Mail* which I feel is a brilliant solution to spam. Brightmail has a High and Medium Spam filter. The Medium just filters all *known* spammers into a folder and you can scan it every 10 days to see if anything was marked *spam* that is NOT. I haven't seen an error in that filter yet...and it catches at least 700 a week! I'm set for HIGH though, which has another filter called *Suspect* email and that is where anyone who is not in my address book goes. It's as simple as scanning and then adding the non-spam into my inbox. Once someone is in my address book, they never go back to the Suspect Filter. That filter also picks up about 300 a week in spam. I do NOT like the blacklists...as very legitimate businesses have been put on them and that means MY email is being screened. I PAY for my service and so I will take the responsibility for dealing with what I am paying for...FULL SERVICE and DELIVERY! TotalChoice has been on blacklists and we all know they have a strong anti-spam policy! Yet, people complain when they *forget* they opted IN. I believe Bright Mail is the best solution I have seen yet. It honors me and isn't a hassle for the ISP.
  24. It just has to wait for the propagation. And don't worry, email can bounce around in cyberspace for days looking for that...it won't return to sender
  25. Flash Tags mean you *expect* your audience to be able to see them, too. I have Flash installed but I've had trouble getting around sites that use Flash Tags. Another way to help Google, is create a site map and submit the site map where it goes down the pages ...then you don't have to worry about the actual pages because it has the sitemap to spider through.
