  1. If you could open a support ticket with the URL that you are seeing that error, we can certainly look into it and see if PHP is missing something.
  2. Hi Kim, The issue is because the secure Cpanel control panel uses a different SSL certificate to the main shared SSL certificate on the server. That's probably why the tech said it was fine as he checked the main one. I've now updated the Cpanel control panel SSL certificate. All looks good now .
  3. The reverse DNS records will soon be added . We've requested for them to be added at the datacenter but of course this will take up to 24 hours to be seen around the globe.
  4. Hi, I do apologize for what the tech said via live chat, if you open a helpdesk ticket and explain the problem and we'll be able to resolve the issue for you. The tech must have mis-understood your problem.

  6. Since I started this thread I should really reply. I do aplogize for the lack of a reply to all the suggestions and views that people have made about ways that users of MT or TCH can use to block these comment spammers. Obviously I was occupied with all the MT comment spamming that was happening during the past 48 hours. Right now I can see that it's going pretty strong, but the new filters that we've put in place are working and we'll continue to fine tune those filters as new spammers come known to us. HCSuperStores, I do have to apologize to you and any other user who was affected by the initial filters that I set. I did eventually realize that the filters were too broad. As you've mentioned, this has now been corrected and things should look much better. But to all users that do see a 406 error and you know you haven't done anything wrong... please do send a ticket into us so that we can investigate it and again fine tune the filters. The suggestion of a TCH script that changes the name of mt-comments.cgi and the other methods of combating the comment spamming is something that we simply can't do. The renaming of the files will get very confusing, if our script renamed all the mt-comments.cgi script, then it renames it again the next, it's possible that some users decide that they change it themselves for some reason. There's also many users that have already changed their script name from the standard mt-comments.cgi filename. We also don't feel comfortable being "Big Brother" and changing files in users' accounts. Of course we will do the "Big Brother" thing in terms of securing the server and making sure everything is running and secure at all times. We want customers to be able to purchase hosting at TCH and use it normally as they wish (following our AUP of course), without too many restrictions. We look after our customers and I can assure you that we are working on the MT comment spamming that is affecting other users that are on the same servers as MT users. We won't let our service degrade, that I can guarantee.
  7. We have seen an increase in comment spamming on Movable Type blogs. This is now happening more often since spammers have discovered this as a new way of spamming. TotalChoice Hosting would like to strongly suggest all Movable Type users to take some simple actions to prevent your blog from being spammed. There is a very useful article at: http://www.elise.com/mt/archives/000246concerning_spam.php The very effective measure is to rename the mt-comments.cgi script, the article at the URL above explains how you can do this (scroll down to "How do you fight spam on your blog?"). When renaming your script, you should rename it to something completely different such as joesay.cgi. There are many other suggestions that the article suggests which we also recommend for Movable Type users to perform.
  8. We've received a reply from our datacenter and they can confirm that everything is working on our side. We are not blocking any IPs. I can get to www.talasilas.org without any problems. It is possible that the problem may be with your ISP. The only suggestion that I have is that you should contact your ISP.
  9. Hi, I've opened a ticket with out datacenter to see if they can trace the problem. The traceroute from our server to your IP address shows the problem is on your end. So it's possible the problem is somewhere in the middle . I'll update you as soon as I hear back from the datacenter.
  10. Thanks cvk for the post. All of TCH servers are running Pure-FTP, but if there is a server that is using ProFTPd, then please notify us and we will most likely switch it over to Pure-FTP. As far as I have know and have seen in the past, Pure-FTP does not have the delay that you are talking about. I have seen it log in straight away. I'll be doing a check later to make sure that the servers are running Pure-FTP. Again, thanks for informing us of this.
  11. We can't provide specific support for filter rules, but after doing some tests, I found that mail was not being delivered to you as the mail server had problems reading your filters file. I had to delete all the filters to get the mail working again. I've just sent a test email message to your account and it went through successfully. I've put a copy of your old filter file named "clanfmc.com" in your public_html folder.
  12. I've just posted a test messages and the total records showing was 26 at the time. I then closed the browser, opened a new browser window and typed in the URL again. The record count was still 26. Andy has also tested it and has not experienced any problems with it. Since it works fine here and for Andy too, this does suggest that it's a computer problem over there. As far as we are aware, server29 has no problems on it.
  13. Just wanted to provide an update... Apache and PHP on server26 has now been re-compiled.
  14. I moved the TCH files over to the new server a few days ago, the databases were moved today. Therefore new files uploaded during the past few days are only on the old server. I have just updated the uploads folder with the new uploads, so the images should show up fine now .
  15. I have just changed DNS over to the new server for TCH. DNS changes do take up to 24 hours to propagate around the Internet, for many the changes should happen within a few hours from now. You'll know you're on the new server when things speed up . More updates will be provided from myself or from Bill as things develop.

  17. The forum database has now been moved. You may notice a slight decrease in speed for a short period while we move other parts of TCH over to the new server and then finally the totalchoicehosting.com domain name will be moved. If you notice any problems anywhere, please post them here.

  19. Sorry for taking so long to resolve this issue, this thread has only just been brought to my attention via a support ticket. After looking on our Linux servers, unzip and zip are not standard utilities that are installed when the operating system is installed. The reason probably being zip is a Windows format compression utility... and we know Windows and Linux don't like each other. Anyway, FSUchucky3 did open a support ticket and I have satisified his request by manually installing unzip and zip programs onto server12. It also works correctly in the Cpanel file manager. I think another user in this thread has said it doesn't work on server5, well it should do now, I've just installed the same on server5 too. If anyone else is needing to unzip a file, just open a support ticket and either myself or anothe tech will resolve it.
  20. We have reverse DNS setup on all our main server IP addresses except server14 and totalchoicehosting.com's main IP. We are adding the info for reverse DNS to these IPs. The reason you are getting no records when you search for ns9 or ns10 is that they do not have their own DNS zones, they are under the zone of 'totalchoicehosting.com'. We know that there are two red areas for this domain, and we are fixing this by changing the nameserver for the do,main to match the one's in the DNS records. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
  21. IMPORTANT When obtaining your password, please use the username and e-mail address provided in the email. The username is not your Cpanel username. In certain cases, your Cpanel username and your TCH account username maybe the same.
  22. Good to see that you've sorted it out. I would have suggested to open a support ticket and I would have acutally imported it for you if it was a straight dump back into the database from a .sql file. This is usually for people who have large databases and find that phpMyAdmin times out. Alan
  23. I have looked at your account and found that there is no mail box created for 'jlemieux@cyberhigh.net'. This means that any e-mail sent tp 'jlemieux@cyberhigh.net' will go to your main account which is set to 'fail'. The main account is 'ANYTHING@cyberhigh.net'. I think there was just some confusion with the main account and your other email accounts. To solve your problem, simply create a new e-mail account for 'jlemieux@cyberhigh.net' in "Manage Accounts > Add Account" section. Then login to the POP account to collect the e-mails sent to that address. Regards, Alan
  24. The errors show the same as what the user tmwes is talking about. It may be because people have bookmarked the FormMail script URL and are trying to recently access it, or it could be new people or programs that are testing to see if you have FormMail installed. It is normal for this to happen and there is nothing to worry about. Regards, Alan
