Start > Run type REGEDIT and click OK File > Export navagate to a folder to save in or create one save ( I use the date 20070120 as a file name)

Yes but you should make your own backups.

Yes if you own a domain name spammers will try to send to any name at your domain. Set the default address to :fail: and 99% of the spam is gone. I only use my ISP address for the contact address and this forum and have never received any spam at that address.

It will only take you a few minutes to open Fantastico in your cpanel and scroll down tp phplist and install with a few questions like folder name, user, password. Might be worth taking a look.

Lou, have you looked in your cpanel > fantastico there is a mail list script called phplist that is an easy install. And a support forum link.
