Santa left me a wonder Weather Station. Maybe I am getting old, but I am amazed by this gizmo. It has this feature that connects to the Atomic Clock and keeps the clock current. I can tell the temp outside and inside plus the humidy levels and much more. I like this thing alot. I also got a nice leather jacket from Mrs. Head Guru

I have been looking for a "FREE" windows backup utility for my Windows XP Pro box. I need something that will allow the backup of networked drives and allows to schedule backups. Any ideas? TIA Bill

You cant share files as your using usb and your host to host controller driver is not working. Reload the drivers for the motherboard and or usb ethernet devices.

Some of the issues when you host your account in a shared server environment are lack of custom complies or custom software. While I am not saying your request is custom, it does fit into that area. PHP4 is more commonly used at the moment, 5 is stable but you will find more bugs and also security issues with it since it's still newer than php4. Would we love to be able to move users to customized servers? Yep, we would. Can we and maintain our low pricing structure. No. When your in a shared hosting plan certain things you just can not control. Demanding something be installed or you give TCH the notice of leaving, well that simply wont change the mind of our adminstrators. Whom, by the way spend thousand of hours a year making sure our servers are secure and running at the most optimum levels possible. They have many things to deal with. In fact, they have tens of thousands of customers to please. Imagine them upgrading to php5 to please one customer and then in process having many other customers wanting to go back to php4. We run a standard set of installed applications per server for a very good reason. I would suggest looking for a Dedicated Server or a smaller hosting company that is willing to make changes on the fly to their boxes. Bill

There is nothing you can do except make sure your own web hosting account is as secure as it can be. Bottom line is this. The only way to fully protect your site, is to unplug the server it resides on. Web Sites get hacked, defaced and much more. Plenty of smart people on the internet thats for sure. Stick one in the cap for them and move on. Just make sure your keeping all your code up to date and so on. Bill

I have been asisting a client with moving her site onto a new tch server. She is a new business and has gotten a good amount of press for her site starting this weekend. Since moving her site, she has had some DNS issues. If anyoone could check this page and let us know if the site is loading, and if time permits even go as far as adding a item to the shopping cart to see if her ssl cert is working. This has been corrected. I have even tweaked the search functions in ipb so we should be getting better search results now. Bill

Time to me to chime in on this. The comment spam is getting out of control. We have had 15+ server crashes caused by this issue. Currently we are working very hard to get something in place to bring the servers effected by this back under control. As MikeJ has stated earlier in this post, we implemented a new server bad word list to attempt to protect our servers. Suspending sites simply isnt working. We are as of today now working with the 6A team to attempt to come to a conclusion on how to stop this problem. Until we figure this out I encourage this discussion to move forward. We will beat this thing Bill
