nancy Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 1. Nancy A. Breslin Fine Art Photography 2. Nancy A. Breslin Fine Art Photography 3. This site features black and white photographs of amusement parks, Paris, and images of meals taken with a pinhole camera. The link to TCH is on the contact page. I would appreciate suggestions about rank placement. Cheers! Quote
bellringr Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 Oh wow! Your photos of Paris are beautiful! Wish you had an exhibition in Illinois. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 Nice site and pictures. Just one question, why do you use a different font on menu in gallery? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 8, 2004 Posted February 8, 2004 Welcome to the family, Nancy! Very nice site! Thumbs Up Quote
SEO Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 Nancy: Reference to your beautiful photography is on our Web Hosting Family Members page SEO thoughts: 1. You have a serious html error which needs fixing (omission of a td closing tag): [i quoted it instead of coded it so I could include the missing tag in red] <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="6" > <tr> <td bgcolor="black" width=15% valign="top"> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <h3 align="center"><a href="index.html">home</a><br> <br> <a href="gallery.html">gallery </a><br> <br> <a href="biopage.html">bio</a><br> <br> <a href="exhibitions.html">exhibitions</a><br> <br> <a href="nancylinks.html">links</a><br> <br> <a href="contact.html">contact</a></h3></td> <td bgcolor="222222" width="85%"> <br> <p align="center"><img src="namew288h93.jpg" alt="nancy breslin photographer" width="288" height="93" border="0"></p> <p align="center"> <img src="knoebels75low.jpg" border="0" alt="flying swings" width="375" height="244"> <br> <font size=1>Flying Swings, Knoebel's Amusement Park<br>© 2002 Nancy A. Breslin</font></p> <br> <p align="center">Nancy Breslin is a Delaware photographer who specializes in images of amusement parks. <br> Other projects include work with a pinhole camera, images of flowers and dance photography.<br> <br> Within the gallery you will find several portfolios of work from recent years.<br> <br> <font size="2">All images are © Nancy A. Breslin and may not be copied or used without permission</font><br> </p> <p align="center"><a href="mailto:nbreslin@udel.edu">email</a></p> <br> <br> </td> </tr> </table> 2. Meta and Title tags look good Thumbs Up 3. Change your first line of text from "Nancy Breslin is a Delaware photographer who specializes in images of amusement parks. " to "Nancy A. Breslin is a Delaware fine art photographer who specializes in photographic images of amusement parks.". 4. Change your second line from "Other projects include..." to "Other photography projects include..." 5. Change the alt tag on "Flying Swings" to 'flying swings photograph'. 6. Non SEO suggestion: remove the email link at the bottom of the page (you have a 'contact' link and I think it takes away visually. 7. Flip your layout. In other words, put the black links column on the right instead of the left. [Another non-SEO suggestions, I would use a smaller font on your link text] 8. Ask fellow shooters to exchange links with you (i.e. acquire relevant backlinks). Good luck. Quote
nancy Posted February 10, 2004 Author Posted February 10, 2004 Thanks to all for your comments. My font should be the same throughout (no instructions otherwise) and it looks that way on my browser. I'm curious to how it appeared to jikrantz. Thanks to Scott for all the suggestions. Aye aye cap'n! Quote
youneverknow Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 Love the site...but if you could change the http://www.fotolog.net/squaremeals page to reflect your black and white theme on this page as well. just my 2cents Quote
krieser Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 Beautiful site Nancy!! One problem though - It doesn't display the background for the body in Mozilla (Firefox/Mozilla/Netscape all on WinXP), so I couldn't read the white text against the white background. Strange thing is that the 'home' page displays the grey background. I think if you update your doctype to <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> it will display fine in these browsers. It does locally on my pc. Anyway, if you're concerned... So what did you make your pinhole camera out of? Quote
