There really isnt much detail, a parked domain is a domain that resolves to the same page as your primary domain.

example, if you have domainb parked on domaina both domains would resolve to the same page which would be domaina.com

Cool. Is it possible to point a domain name (one I have registered through Total Choice Hosting) at a specific page on my primary domain? This is much like the holding or forwarding page that many ISPs provide. I'm sure that this must be possible but I'm not sure what the correct terminology for this is.

Thanks, Richard.

No, parked domains must point to the same page as your primary domain.

OK, that's fair enough. Could you explain what an add-on domain is and how I use those? Can I make a domain name I have registered with TCH an add-on domain to my primary domain (also registered with TCH)?

Thanks, Richard.

Richard,

I own knifeandblade.com, .net, .org, .biz, .us and so on. I want averyone going to any of them to get to my .com address, the one I have hosted at TCH. To do that I have them as add-on domains. The advantage of this is that I can now have email at .com or any of the others if I want.

I can also do this if I have another domain not related in name like supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.something and make it an add-on if I like.

In short you can make your other domain an add-on domain to your hosted domain.

No, you can't point to a different page, only to the home page of the primary domain. Difference between Add-on and parked is the functionality of the added or parked domain. If parked, it won't have mail features, etc. (my understanding, but I'll double check that).

Parked domains do have email available. You just set them up in the main account CPanel.

Add-on domains are available on reseller accounts and can be pointed to a subdomain.

Here I was talking about parked domains.
