A lady was trying to view my site she tried with 4 different browser and said my site was not showing up said all she say was a white background and my text but my images where all broken. Can anyone check it and tell me why its doing this or if you see it.

I am not sure she said she tried 4 and none of them worked. She said something about checking with my host cause it could be IP banning or my htaccess file. I am confused cause everyone else seems to be getting all my gaphics to load. I have not messed with either of those things in my cpanel or files area.

She sent me a picture of my site and sure enough none of my images are showing up for her

If she tried 4, and none of them worked I would suspect that the problem was more her side than yours - since everyone else can see them fine

If you get anyone else ccomplaining that they can not see some of them either, then either PM me, or submit a support ticket and we'll have a look at your htaccess file - but it isn't likely to have cnaged itself :)

Hi! I am the one who is trying to view Mitzi's website.

I have tried to view it using IE, Netscape, Opera and MyIE2 (all the most updated versions). None of the images show up. No background images, nothing. Just the text and a white background with the broken image placeholders. (see attached)

I have no problems view any other websites. I have tried clearing my cache and history, as well as refreshing my browser. Nothing works.

I was thinking it might have something to do with IP Banning or the .htaccess file

I hope we can figure this out.

Kind regards,

Elaine

Hi Elaine,

Welcome to the Family here :-)

I assume you see grapics elsewhere and on other sites. (ie they arent turned off on your browsers).

Can you try mitzi-bear.com/ as well as mitzi-bear.com (note the trailing slash on the first one) please.

Loads fine for me to, Is she using a firewall? Some firewalls are bad about blocking images on some sites. Also she made need to clear all her temp files and cache for all of the browsers.

Hi Andy!

Thanks for the welcome. I am actually a Total Choice customer, but I have never posted in the forums before (haven't needed to! :) )

Thanks for lending your help here.

Yes, I can see all images/graphics on other sites. I don't had a problem at all.

Neither mitzi-bear.com, nor mitzi-bear.com/ work.

This is puzzling? I had something similar happen with my own site when I set up my very first domain, and I contacted the host (not Total Choice at the time) and they fixed it for me, but never told me what the problem was.

Could it have anything to do with the Hotlinking protection that Mitzi has enabled?

Hi,

If it was Hotlinking, I would expect to affect everyone - not just you. But it could be linked to that it some way.

If Mitzi submits a ticket to the help desk, then I'll have a look (I need the username / password to do so).

Just an FYI, Paul (CrimsonSky) had some issues with his site where some people could see images and others couldnt. There was a line missing from the .htaccess file.

It seems to be working nicely now for everyone. :)

Big thanks to Andy for working it out on a Saturday for us! Definitely goes above and beyond. Rock Sign

Have a great evening over there Andy!

And Mitzi, I'll see you in email. :)

Hello everyone.

I had this same problem (which our wonderful support team fixed for me). It was a hotlink issue with the .htaccess file. I used cpanel to set this up, so it makes me wonder if there is an issue with the automated setup???

I'm a bootstrap webmaster (more like webjourneyman actually) so any insights from the experts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
