Arta Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 OK, i've been a customer for quite a while now, through many changes and have been happy with the support i've received in the past, mostly when i originally set up my site. Today, I have a problem and unfortunately I dont think i have a login to the most recent help desk, so my first questions is can I get a login to that? If not, maybe someone can help me figure out what may have happened with my phpbb forum. As of about 2 PM EST today, anyone who visited received this error: phpBB : Critical Error Could not obtain lastvisit data from user table I was at work when it started, so dont know what caused it to fix it. Another thing is, my domain emails are not working through MS OUtlook .. not sure if it is a related thing or not. My chatroom, other subdomains, main domain site and everything else seem to be in working order. Thanks in advance for any help I can get. Quote
leezard Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 I just checked your forums and didnt get any errors. What server are you on? They had some issues with server 24 today so if you are on 24 that might have been the cause of your problem. Quote
imadsurfer Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 I don't know what server your site is hosted on, but it would be my guess that it has something to do with the minor hiccup in the system today. If you go to the Server Issues link in the Forum, you will find more info. ImaD Quote
leezard Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 disregard that last post, just did a trace route, your on server 4 so the server 24 issue isnt the cause Quote
Arta Posted June 23, 2003 Author Posted June 23, 2003 um.. did you try this link? XTO Forums http://xto.artamishia.com/xtoforum/ I know that the writing ones are ok, and they r the only ones i linked to from the main page of my site... i just tried again, and got this error this time phpBB : Critical Error Error doing DB query userdata row fetch Truthfully, I dont even remember which server im on right now.. i thought 5 or 6 or something like that Quote
leezard Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 Yeah i tried the forum on your site, just tried that one you linked and got the same error message Quote
imadsurfer Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 OOPS The page http://www.artamishia.com/updates.htm needs to be updated. It sent you to the wrong place. Either /forums is not available yet, or has been removed from the system. Please email the webmaster and let them know about this error: Webmaster Sorry for the inconvenience. www.artamishia.com 68.52.240.72 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98) 404 That's the message I get when I try the link from your "updates" page.. leezard Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 do you have two different forums installed? i just did a quick google search on that error, and altho i didnt find a resolution yet everything is saying it's due to having two forums and the database getting mismatched somehow Quote
imadsurfer Posted June 23, 2003 Posted June 23, 2003 NP....I just don't know where the system default is for the BB that you use. I use the Invision board that I set up myself, so I'm at a loss to help you much.....but I know Leezard will come through.... ImaD Quote
Arta Posted June 23, 2003 Author Posted June 23, 2003 i do have 2 forums, 1 under each subdomain hmm, thats interesting, if you find something pls post the link Quote
borfast Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 That basically means that PHP can't access your database. The question is: why? There's two possibilities. One is that you have the wrong username/password in the phpBB configuration but I'm setting that one asside since you said the forums were working fine. The other one is that there's something wrong with the users table on your phpBB MySQL table. If it's nothing serious, you should be able to go to CPanel, go to phpMyAdmin, select the database where you have the phpBB tables, select the "*_users" table and run the Check/Optimize/Repair/Analyze operations. I'm telling you to run them all because I'm not sure which one is the right one. Perhaps "Repair" but as I said, I'm not sure. If that doesn't do it, then there's something else going on. In that case ,post here again and I'll try to help you out. Quote
imadsurfer Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 Hmmmm.......that certainly seems like it could be the culprit, but I don't know for sure. I can see how that could confuse a database though..... ImaD Quote
leezard Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 borfast beat me to it, after a little more digging I found out it's a problem with the tables, was going to suggest you go to phpmyadmin and repair each table. Quote
