hello,

I was looking for a way to log straight into one of the webmail programs

At the FAQ on the TCH homepage there is an article on how to log into Horde with a script, at http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/help/id35.htm

(the article as mentioned above), there is a link to the code snippet, however, that lnk doesn't work...

I managed to extract the Javascript from the example page..

I wanted to let you know that that link doesn't work, but still

However, is it possible to log straight into Neomail instead of Horde (as in the example page)?

Many thanks in advance,

Eelco

Hi YMe369,

I can log straight into Neomail by a link such as I have on this page here for my family to use. http://www.tomowa.com/neomail.htm. I think I tried that Horde script also, with the same results, which is why I ended up with Neomail.

Hi Jason, just curious, is there any issues with Neomail, that one should be concerned using it, or are you just surprised it is used at all

Thanks for the info Tomowa,

I've completly over-thought about the path into the 2095 port that there was a pl file for it.

Getting my 'script' to work is another thing, but this is a start, thank you once again..

And on the subject of Neomail, for my seperate mailaddresses, I mainly use Neo, because of the simplicity, Horde is ok for my own webmail, but I don't want my fellow users to 'screw' things up because of the many settings etc.

From the "For What It's Worth" department...I prefer squirrelmail to Horde or Neo. Squirrelmail just seems very simplistic compared to the others. (But everyone has their own likes and dislikes!)

Thanks Thomas for that info :) I had used Squirrel Mail when on my previous webhost. When my sites were moved here, the link I was using to access Squirrel Mail did not work here at TCH, but I could get the NeoMail to work.

But that simple URL you were aware of works like a charm.

Thanks for that :clapping:

Good day (well evening for you..),

Thomas, is there a way to go to the secure login with the link you gave? For instance, I use webmail.mydomain.net to redirect to mydomain.net:2096/3rdparty/squirrelmail/index.php (you'll recall port 2096 is the secure login). Going back to my original question, is there a way to make yourdomain.net/sqmail point to the secure login? Or not? Thanks!

Funny Robert, my account is on Server82... I wonder how you knew that (lol). Anyways, that's fine, but I was wondering if there was anything similar to ******/sqmail but secure, so that you would still see your domain name in the location bar. No biggie, was just a curious type.

Aaron, you couldn't get that unless you had your own SSL certificate.

am a bit confused about being able to log in to webmail (squirrelmail) directly - is this possible?

i saw the script for horde, but would like something like that for squirrelmail - doesn't need to be java, just any direct link to the webmail. is this possible, avoiding cpanel?

many thanks for any hints...

Actually the links do not go to the same SquirrelMail. Using /webmail at the end or accessing SquirrelMail through cPanel goes to the version of SquirrelMail installed with cPanel and uses port 2095. Using the /sqmail link goes to a version of SquirrelMail that we have installed on the server that is accessible through port 80 so that folks that have port 2095 blocked can still access webmail.
