AlanV Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 We got the first real snow of the year yesterday in Pittsburgh. It was exciting... my first time in snow since I moved from Colorado to AZ http://photos.alanv.org/cmu7/index.html Everyone else getting snow too? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 We had a dusting in southern Ohio. Now if the idiots would just learn to winter drive all over again. Quote
TCH-Don Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Yep, we got a couple inches and its like almost everyone forgot how to drive on slick roads. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 HAHA! Snow. Thats great. What is snow by the way? Quote
GroovyFish Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 What is snow by the way? Hee hee... this reminds me... We had exchange students living with us through out all of my teen years (14 total students total). Our first one was from Germany and lived with us for a year. She kept a list of the funniest questions that she was asked while she was here. The top of her list was from one of the people my dad worked with... "What color is the snow in Germany?"!!! Thinking the woman was joking, she replied "purple" and the woman said "OHHHHH! Really??" (she seriously believed her). Quote
MikeJ Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 No snow here in Chicago right now (we had a little bit briefly last month). Saw a bit of snow in Michigan though when I was driving through on Sunday (it was snowing then)... passed at least a dozen cars who ended up in ditches... fortunately none of them look serious, and only one involved more than one vehicle. I grew up in the midwest all my life and it still boggles me how poorly some people drive in snow. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 (edited) HAHA! Snow. Thats great. What is snow by the way? Not a uncommon sight in Stockholm Sweden (Fortunately we dont have it right now... but its just a matter of time. <_> Edited December 14, 2004 by TCH-Thomas Quote
Deverill Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 What is snow by the way? Can't help you there, Rob. Folks around here (Florida Keys) say it's just a myth - along with temperatures lower than 41 degrees Fahrenheit (5 C) and frost. I think I vaguely remember something about it from when I was a kid but that may have just been a movie I saw or something. Everyone go make a snowman for me, ok? Quote

We have some of it to put around the front entrance of my mother's home for Christmas day. (Ocala Florida, just north of Orlando, is NOT known for the winter snowfall) Insta Snow is actually cool to the touch! http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/movies_and_demos_20042211.php# -Samantha Quote
TCH-Don Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 If you want snow, now is the time to visit me. We are to get another 8-12 inches maybe. Its 1 degree now, with a chill factor of -26 Brisk Quote
