TCH-Thomas Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Sorry, we need you to publish your question in english as per the forum guidelines: All publicly displayed messages are limited to the English language. Quote
Deverill Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 (edited) For what it's worth I believe the question is "How do I get subdomain.**** to go to www.****/ if the subdomain does not exist?" (Geez, the Google translater doesn't work very well sometimes!) But Thomas is right that all posts need to be in English. Edited October 27, 2004 by TCH-Jim Quote
MikeJ Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 (edited) One way you could set that up is to create the subdomain, and then set up redirection so that it redirects to your main domain. Both of these options should are available in your cPanel. Edit: Sorry, realize now that midiminio.com is saying the same as ****. I'm a little slow at times. Deverill Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Nah, I should have stayed in context. Sorry. Quote
TCH-Don Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 The only way I can see is use 404.shtml to redirect to domain.com Quote
:-\ Quote
Alan Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 I think perhaps, if TCH IS going to be doing worldwide hosting, you guys do need to hire some people who speak spanish. Quote
TCH-Rick Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 We do have persons who speak Spanish. I lived in Latin America for a number of years. The forums, however, are public and designed to help all users so the policy is that posts should be in English. For help in Spanish you would need to send a PM, use IM, or submit a Help Desk ticket. It is important to note that in these cases it may take longer for a response to your request as there are not as many persons that are able to respond. Quote
Deverill Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 TCH may have a world wide audience but how many of us users would be totally lost if one person posted in French, three in Spanish, one in Russian and a few in Japanese. The forums would be just about useless. We can't very well say XYZ language is our second language because most of the staff and mods are not bilingual and therefore it wouldn't matter which other language we pick - none is a better choice than any other. We really must keep everything in English and I'm afraid we may have to start closing/deleting posts that are not in English. Remember that TCH can be considered liable by some courts for what's posted on their site so they can't allow messages that could be illegal without knowing... and that's just one reason. Lo siento, mi espanol es muy mal... no lo he practicado. :-\ Clarriega, if your Spanish is bad because you've not practiced it then why do you keep posting in Spanish? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Lo siento, mi espanol es muy mal... no lo he practicado. :-\ Clarriega, if your Spanish is bad because you've not practiced it then why do you keep posting in Spanish? It was AlanV that posted that message. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 Moving this for organization since we found out what it was about. Quote
Deverill Posted October 28, 2004 Posted October 28, 2004 It was AlanV that posted that message. So it was... see how confusing it gets when we don't stick with English! Quote
clarriega Posted November 30, 2004 Author Posted November 30, 2004 The totalchoicehosting support activated wildcards in DNS for my domain to use subdomain redirection. The support of totalchoicehosting is very good and the forum too. Sorry for my english. Gracias por todo. Quote
