eicia Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 Hello, I'm not sure this is the right place to ask this question.. I have my website and some people complain that they can't see the images and can't download things there either. Not all of them but only some people. I have no clue why it happens... The only thing I can think of is Hotlink Protection... Can it happen if I activate "Hotlink protection" in Cpanel? Because I blocked hotlinks to image files and zip files. But I think it should be fine with showing the images inside the website. hm.. any idea ? thank you in advance. Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 Hi Eicia, welcome! Can you provide a link? In cpanel > hot link be sure that your site is listed as http://domain.ext and http://www.domain.ext Quote
eicia Posted August 29, 2004 Author Posted August 29, 2004 Hello Don, Thank you for the fast responce. The link is here I checked my cpanel. The site is listed with and without 'www'.. Quote
boxturt Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 I don't know if it helps narrow things down but I can see all the images on all your pages in Mozilla, Netscape and IE in CT, Usa Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 I see the red x´s. Im in sweden by the way. Quote
mvpzone Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 Hi eicia I get the red 'x' too. I cannot see any images on your site. I also wanted to say that am investigating a similar problem on my site. Cheers Quote
Deverill Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 It's good here - Florida w/BellSouth DSL. If this is a brand new site it may be some problem with DNS propogation... but that's a reach. Quote
eicia Posted August 29, 2004 Author Posted August 29, 2004 Wow, thank you so much for the relpies !! they are really helpful to narrow down the cases. I opened up the website about 1 and half month ago.. It is pretty new but I heard that DNS propagation doesn't take long.. Can DNS propagation still have problems after it is finished ? mvpzone, could you tell me your location ? thank you. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Eicia, I think you should open a help ticket just to make sure nothings wrong at TCH end. Quote
pfeffer5308 Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 looks good in south korea on a military server that usually blocks everything! Thumbs Up Quote
Virtual Imager Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 I thought I posted a reply last night... wonder where it went Maybe it was same problem, different thread. Anyway... I had this problem once and although I never understood what caused it, it was cured by disabling hotlinking for a day or so. Here's a link to that thread. Quote
Virtual Imager Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Yep, that's the one. Seems like the same problem for both of them... it's contagious!! Quote
eicia Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 Thank you all. Virtual Imager, I will try turning off hotlink protection. Thank you Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Let us know when hotlink is off so we (who have problem) can recheck. Quote
