Robb Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Alright, I was recently suspended from TCH. It was apparently I gave an ftp account and subdomain to. Hosting "illegal" material. I'm not going to ask the people to here to let me have my account back, because I knew that stuff was being hosted that shouldn't have (and they already told me I can't have the account back). It's still unspecified what was being hosted illegally, though I could probobly guess. Anyway, the main reason for this topic is because I need to get all my material back from the server (html files, videos, and pictures) that were being hosted, and were all infact my things. The videos and pictures were taking by me. The support ticket desk hasn't answered me and it's been hours. I just want to know if they would allow me to do this. I guess since I need to get a new hosting plan from someone else, I am going to need my site to do so, so I don't need to remake it. Quote
Deverill Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Robb, Thanks for being honest about it. Some would come in denying everything and you didn't so kudos for that. I obviously can't speak for management, but my recommendation would be to be patient. Since it's the weekend the help desk may be a little slower on your request. If they chose not to let you have your stuff or if they had already deleted it I am confident they would say so. Either way, a non-answer is not the same as "no". Quote

However, you've come in and fessed up, so perhaps Head Guru will get in touch with you on this. While hosting illegal content is bad, the mere fact that you came in and admitted it is a fine thing. I respect you for that. Quote

Robb Posted August 23, 2004 Author Posted August 23, 2004 Having access to the illegal material itself I'm not worried about (escpecially seeing how it wasn't my uploaded stuff apparently), I just am mainly concerned about getting my videos. I wish I would have backed them up. I happen to have found the actual html to my site though. If the admin (I belive Bill) would like to contact me on AIM, that would be greatly appriciated.
