ekrocker Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Is there anyway I can block access to my site? I only need to block certain IP's... Quote
TCH-Don Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 In cpanel look for IP Deny Manager This feature will allow you to block a range of IP addresses to prevent them from accessing your site. You can also enter a fully qualified domain name, and the IP Deny Manager will attempt to resolve it to an IP address for you. Quote
ekrocker Posted July 7, 2004 Author Posted July 7, 2004 Thank you for the quick reply. I actually found it in the Cpanel after I posted the question. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Been thinking about blocking ip´s since I did it myself a while ago. Without knowing if this really works or not, but wouldnt visiting a site via a service like anonymizer.com make the blocking useless? Quote
jandafields Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 It depends what country the "anonymizer" server is located in. But yes, that would allow the users to bypass your ip-deny. There's not much you can do about that, unless you block the anonymizer server somehow. Quote
michéal Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 I am trying to certain people from leaving information on my guestbook advertising certain products. If it keeps going I will have to take it down. I tried blocking their ips but there were another 10 postings today. How do I stop them. Quote
whoahorse Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Do they use the same IP all the time? Weezy Quote

You might want to try Viper Guestbook instead. michéal Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 I have put in different ip addresses that showed up and still they put up the postings and it is getting annoying having to delete them. Quote

Same procedure...block their IP. but this situation is mostly spam bots. They don't use anonymizer. Lee Quote
abinidi Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Ok, so today I decided to install WordPress, and as I was looking for plugins, I came across the following page. It is, perhaps, my favorite all-time error page: http://wp-plugins.net/wp-plugin-mgr.html (acutally, the link I clicked on tool me to a .zip file, but I didn't want to scare anybody, and the error message is the same, regardless) I'm laughing out loud!! I can't help myself! Quote
DaffiDuck Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 I tried and it wont resolve to an IP? How do i find the numeric value Quote
