Head Guru Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 I have been a Intellicast user for several years. But today a friend turned me on to accuweather.com Wow! I like this site alot. Even gives you detailed rain forecasts. http://www.accuweather.com/adcbin/public/l...ner=accuweather Quote
TCH-Rob Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 I like that alot but the rain forecast dissapoints me a bit. Quote
youneverknow Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 I like accuweather but the free real live radar reports on weatherunderground should not be overlooked here is the link http://www.wunderground.com youneverknow Quote
TCH-Dick Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 I really like that weather underground site. In case anyone wonders what the weather in Odessa Tx is like, heres a nice sandstorm for ya Quote
youneverknow Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 TCH MIKE I hope you have your windows closed...cool pic youneverknow Quote
TCH-Dick Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Heh, its not my pic, but yes it is very cool. Luckily there arent many sandstorms like that here though, maybe 1-2 a year. That pic was taken in Midland about 30 miles east, the sandstorms in Odessa are usually worse because west of Odessa is the monohans sandhills state park...nothing but sand dunes as far as the eye can see. danceswithscissors Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 I don't think Phoenix is ever gonna see rain again. We're just gonna dry up and blow away. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 I don't think Phoenix is ever gonna see rain again. We're just gonna dry up and blow away. Take a strong wind to blow me away Quote
danceswithscissors Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Well Rob, we haven't got much wind and according to news reports we may not have electricity by morning either, so we're gonna have to WiFi PV Mall. woooot Quote
danceswithscissors Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Yup! I'm hoping the reports are exaggerated. I just made myself a forum pic and now I gotta figure out how to get it in here. Unless it's going to spontaneously appear. Testing, testing .... Quote
TCH-Rob Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 I see it. So we have 82,000 acres burned just south and west of our city. 55,500 just north east of us. 16,000 acres south of us on Mt Graham and a big one going to take out power lines to the north possibly leaving up to a million without power aside from possible rolling blackouts from the power plant fire. I think I want to move now thank you. Quote
danceswithscissors Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Wyoming is nice this time of year, I just got back from a 2 week vaca there. You can check the weather stats for that area here: http://www.accuweather.com/adcbin/public/l...ner=accuweather Notice how I cleverly un-hijacked Bill's thread? LOL How come my avatar won't show up? It shows up ok in my control panel. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 I saw it the first time. Can you get detailed local wether for free from this or is it just general info? Quote
danceswithscissors Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 They charge for some services but I've never checked out details on what those are. I look up the radar maps for Arizona and they're very detailed for what I want to see. Much more accurate than weather.com. Quote
stevevan Posted July 7, 2004 Posted July 7, 2004 Rob: You can move to here to the Gulf Coast of Florida. All you have to do is dodge the occasional hurricane. There's more of a problem from lightning strikes. Quote
