Can you set the digits of the counter manually?

 

I need a new counter but don't want it to start at 0?

Yes - when you set up a counter through cpanel, you can choose the starting number. You can also reset any current counters you have the same way.

If you want to have another one than what cpanel offers, you can try http://www.gtchat.de/main_en.html Click on Download > Other

Its a easy set up cgi script.

And yes, you can set it to start at what ever you want.

Or since you have access to the stats elminate the counter all together.

I'd agree for a business site, but counters do no harm on a personal site. The counters aren't for the admin's use anyway - they are to show the world just how wonderful and popular we are! :hug:

Hence the reason I dont use them. 2 visitors this year and one of them was me. Dont want to let the world know how sad I am.

I cringe when I see the numbers on my own personal website. Very pitiful. But for my main site I'm very proud to show the numbers. They go up several hundred a day! I think I'll need one with more digits. Can I just alter the code to make that work? Naughty
