since sqmail is standard now, maybe someone can help i've installed it and have been using it with no problems since many weeks. i also managed to install a plugin which worked once. for some reason it simply dissapeared because the option to use it was not available anywhere. anyhow, short story is: i've installed the address book import/export and see where last login was from plugins, 1 at a time, and have enabled them each time by running the conf.pl script. also, using the conf.pl script, i have changed the default supplier to read something else than "squirrelmail" (what you see right after you log in, top right). each time i saved the changes, and indeed, when i run conf.pl again, they are noted. when i downloaded the config.php file and checked it, all the changes were there too. but............ nothing works! the link to squirrelmail still reads 'squirrelmail', the plugins dont show!!! whats wrong? the most obvious solution to me is that the config.php file is not being read? how come? thanks in advance peter

would anyone know which plugin allows you to place a link in the default view? i saw the plugin somewhere, but i cant find it anymore... i'd just like to have a link to say, ICQ, on the page I see after I log in. or even before would be ok... anyone? thanks, piotr

im unable to find any posts sent by myself when using the search function, often i have to log in, threads are not being followed (eg updates, etc)........

ahhhhhh now you got me really confused! sorry must be one of those days. lets put it this way: 1. i create a new directory , say http://redo.net/llama'>http://redo.net/llama'>http://redo.net/llamawith no index.htm page, but with only one other page, say test.htm thus: with indexing off, if i access just http://redo.net/llama, i will not be able to see anything with indexing on, if i access just http://redo.net/llama,i will be able to see the test.htm file. correct? 2. whether indexing is on or off, if someone tries to access a non-existant file, he will always get a 404 error correct?

stupid question jim, but about the indexing... are you absolutely sure? cpanel says: "If indexes are off, people will not be able to see what files are in a directory that lacks an index file. " im confused...

i've installed the PhP chat, but was wondering if there is any way of adjusting the time which is displayed? basically i am in a different time zone. also, it would be nice if i could add the 3 letter timezone code next to the time - is this all possible? many thanks for any hints!

i'm using squirrelmail as my mail programme, and i wanted to know whether turning the indexing off for sensitive directories (data, attachment), is going to improve my security - i think yes, or? somebody would actually have to know the whole pathname in order to get to a file, correct? secondly, would this change the operation of any programme? ie squirrelmail? (eg if i turn off the indexing for its root) thirdly, what are the appropriate CHMOD settings for sensitive directories - such that i am able to have access but no one else? obviously 777 is not the right one... anybody? thanks!

thanks, but i'd like to configure a load of plugins too, and it just seems a lot easier to do it the first way... hence i'm looking for a way to do it that way. i did configure things the second way, the first time i did it, but it's just a pain... any alternatives?

i'm trying to make my life easier by being able to run scripts on the server... not that i know a lot ... but: when i access it and try to run a conf.pl file (in squirrel mail) i get the following: sh: ./conf.pl: /usr/bin/env: bad interpreter: Permission denied any ideas anyone? many thanks!

COMMAND:> STOR 26.jpg STATUS:> Connecting data socket... 451 26.jpg: Append/Restart not permitted, try again. ERROR:> Can't initiate data transfer my question is, why is appending not permitted, and is there any way to set at least have the option of overwriting or automatically setting it to append? many thanks!
