  1. If you don't mind my asking, what did you do to fix it? (BTW...I voted a "yes".)

  3. Welcome to the forums!
  4. First, welcome to the forums. In my (limited) opinion, the problems would occur on a different host if the script is written the same way. If you did not make any changes before (or immediately) after the crash, then I feel you could safely rule out script problems. Did the slashes recommended by David work?

  6. Welcome to the forums. If you look through the forums here, you'll find a whole "family" willing to help with nearly any problem. Downtimes are kept to a minimum. And in the event of (gasp) downtime, how many other hosting sites have the OWNER post notices on the forum about what's going on? I hope you'll make the decision to come to TCH. As someone who's been involved with ISPs and web hosting for a number of years, I don't plan on leaving here any time soon!

  9. Paulo: Check out their FAQs page. They tell you how to do that. Raul: I know...but as they said, it's basically a "give credit where credit is due" type of thing. (As long as the program is free, I don't really mind it!)
  10. That depends upon the program. I know Frontpage has templates and I believe Dreamweaver and CuteSiteBuilder do also. These all cost some money, so you might want to check out some googled links first for some ideas.

  13. Welcome to the forums, grimreaper169! Bruce's suggestion is probably the best as it comes from the group that sets HTML standards. However, if you do a google search for something like "HTML Tutorials", there will be plenty of sites with examples you can play with to your hearts content. (Besides, that's the fun of it, right? ) And as a last resort, you have many familiy members here who are only too willing to help!
  14. Thomas, if you REALLY want it, Jim and I will make sure we send all of our hurricanes this year to you.
  15. If you're serious about doing this (and risking your high-speed connection at home if your ISP finds out), try doing a google search for dynamic IP forwarding. Several sites came up that might be worth checking into. I personally have never done that, so I can't answer you specifically on how to do it. Sorry!
  16. Quoted from their FAQs page: Hope this helps.
  17. Welcome to the forums, Vimal! I see David has pointed you in the right direction. As a former Frontpage user, I'll add that Frontpage is a great way to get websites up and running quickly. But if you're curious about how things work (aren't we all?), you find that you'll be spending more and more time in the HTML tab. Then once you get a little more experience under your belt, you'll ditch Frontpage and use something that will write pure HTML code without all of Micro$ofts clutter. There are many good programs out there...it just depends on your mood and desire to learn. Or you can, like Bruce said, just use Notepad and not have to purchase a thing!
  18. Welcome to the forums! And to answer your questions, well, Andy beat me to it!
  19. That's getting chilly! Let's see...snow and cold or an occasional hurricane...hmmm...tough choice. I told May to hang around a bit longer next year.

  24. I am by no means a programmer, but I think you would have the same problems. It's not the form per se, but the script needed to execute what you want to do. As mentioned above, formmail has big-time security issues which is why TCH does not allow it. On a side note, you don't really need a special program to write HTML code...you can even do it in Notepad! But the applications DO make life a little easier!
