  1. Welcome to the forums!
  2. Spammers will try almost anything to get email through. The best prevention is to be pro-active in your web design (e.g. not blatantly have email addresses showing in the web site, and turning on and using SpamAssasin), and education (e.g. don't open unknown attachments). Nothing will stop all of this type of email...it's an unfortunate fact of life on the internet.
  3. Start with the easiest first.
  4. cajunmanrlife: Thanks for pointing this out. I have forwarded the info onto the appropriate people as we mods don't have access to the web pages.
  5. I would start by making sure that you are still getting power to the laptop. Check the voltage on the battery and from the power supply. Oh...and welcome to the forums!
  6. You can also encrypt your email addresses in your site by visiting this site. I use it and have very, very little spam coming to any of my accounts.
  7. Glad to hear it and welcome to the forums!
  8. Welcome to the forums, reno.
  9. First, welcome to the forums. In answer to your question, you might want to open a help desk ticket (link at the top) and have them look into it, just in case. I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem, so I would start with the help desk and work from that point.
  10. Welcome to the forums!
  11. I feel that most of the hackers/crackers fall into the later catagory. Raul, please correct me if my assumption is wrong. These are the people I was referring to.
  12. Just read an article at cnn.com (here) about new attacks by hackers on software other than Micro$oft. Some people have no life I guess.
  13. Welcome to the forums! I would first make sure that any possible caching locations (browser, ISP, etc.) is NOT caching anything. That will help you decide which direction to go. But start with the easiest first...your browser.
  14. Welcome to the forums. A shopping cart system might work for you. Have you tried doing a google search for anything related to this?
  15. Check out this page.
  16. Good luck with your search. I think you'll find that TCH has just about the best deal going. And as that commercial says..."Not only am I a Moderator, I'm a client, too!" Welcome to the forums!

  18. Welcome to the forums! (What Don and Bruce said above!) The only dumb question is the one not asked!
  19. At first read, it sounds like XP in a fancier package. Thanks, Thomas!
  20. Bob: Have you heard any advantages / disadvantages on it?
  21. Actually, between the tutorial that Thomas shared and the documentation on Coppermine's site, it's rather painless. The only problem that _I_ have is that I have a tendency to get ahead of the documentation thinking I know what to expect. (That's when I get into trouble! ) Just take it step by step and it's a piece of cake! One other thing I tho't of that I do on many occasions. Have some paper next to the computer and write down each step you perform and what you did. That will help in troubleshooting or if you have to install it again. I've got a small folder of program installs that I've done and, yes, I have had to refer to it a few times!
  22. Welcome to the forums! FWIW...You might want to keep your bandwidth usage in mind when doing this, too!
  23. Sounds like a hosting company in Arizona (don't remember exactly where) who was using the TOS from my old ISP employer. They didn't even bother to change the company name in the TOS! I had to laugh!
  24. Welcome to the forums!
