Guess you can't edit posts after awhile. Everything checks out now. I tried the ole plugin route, and got it running, kinda. At least it validates now, and I can go to sleep. Figures it's a bloody plugin, same as always for the early adopters of the newest release.

I'm revisiting this... My feed generated by WP is invalid. I don't know SQL or PHP, so I'm asking you guys if you can offer a clue. Right now I'm flipping through PHP files and googling away. Hokay, I am making progress. I didn't know what I was doing in the settings, and had it set to "download.mp3". After more research, this is for compatibility with WinServers. Now, she plays and looks good for the most part. Unfortunately, I now have feed issues. I think that there is just a space missing on line 7 to separate out a line, but since the feed runs through FeedBurner, I believe I am at their mercy for a fix.

That's what I'm going to try tonight. But frankly I don't know if that's the issue, or perhaps something else. Thanks for being here, Bruce!

Okay, I'm veeeeeery inexperienced at audio editing and I have never used PodPress. Last night I created a file, mixed it, and saved it. Then I uploaded it to /uploads. I saved in .mp3, used a low bitrate (too low?), and now it won't play in the built-in player, nor can I seem to download it to any of my PC's. Would anyone care to offer advice or point me in a good direction? If it matters, I'm using Audacity. Also, I think when I get this working I will make a how-to as I can't seem to find one after searching, nor on the PodPress site.

Same here about the admin interface, but I'm sure we'll get used to it.

Well, I dove in and all seems well. All my plugins but "Popularity Contest" are working. PC won't activate, and WP says there is a fatal error. At least it's nice enough to tell you ahead of time.

I have about an hour before poker tonight, and I'm debating it. I don't use my blog to make money, so if it breaks, I restore and wait. Any thoughts?

Mac is pretty, but I just can't get past the price. I play on one from time to time. Kubuntu is fun too.

Not so fast, HG. They both are good environments. I just happen to prefer blue to BROWN. XFCE is okay too. It's like Gnome-light. I'm wanting to play with BlackBox, but just can't find the time between Cisco classes.

Another year for me, and I'm still happy as can be. Granted, I just do a part-time blog for my own entertainment, but TCH serves it up just fine. It's good to know help is there and knowledgeable (sp?). Hopefully I can get around to doing a podcast and we'll see how she holds up then.

I'm sure they would. I just think that Canonical should do a little advertising, and this sounds cool to me.

I don't know if anyone else has seen the new splash for 8.04, but it looks like a design from the 70's. Reminds me of smoke swirling around, and the blue colour reminds me of water. I think they should come up with a marketing campaign, and use "Smoke on the Water" for their advertising. I don't know how it would all incorporate, but in my head it sounds awesome.

Is it possible to have more (small) contests? The last one with the dedicated hosting, laptop, etc. were great (even though I missed entry because of finals), but I just like the fun of playing/contest-ing with everyone on here. Piddly prizes are fine, I just enjoy the sport. Any other thoughts?

Well, I downloaded it, changed the folder name to "default", and uploaded it. I'll see how it goes.

It changed to "default" before, and now to nothing since I deleted the default. Just put whatever theme into a folder named "default", and that should handle it?
