  1. Well, It does depend on how you have things set up there now. If they let you have access to making a back-up of the board then you should be able to download it and import the settings here. You would need to ask them though to be sure. IPB does have a backup feature but I do not know if it is sufficient.
  2. Don, Dave, I have not used this feature but as far as I can tell, it looks like you have to start from scratch to modify after posting. I am sure someone more familiar with this procedure can say for sure though.
  3. I am not sure myself Carl. Hang tight and someone should be along with an answer.
  4. Welcome Dave. I still make those errors so don't feel bad.
  5. You should be able to import your settings for the board. You can make any start page you want. You can create as many email accounts that you want. Unlimited is for the number of email accounts you can have. Just remember that you have a limited amount of bandwidth that those email accounts and all your visitors can use. I think you can get away with the starter package. Of course you can upgrade at any time. To be sure, one can always get the largest package you can afford. Yes, we allow Invision here and it should function as it does where you are so you can upload images and send PM's. Welcome to the forums.
  6. I wish you could send it my way. Man, I miss rain. Glad it was nothing like it could have been.
  7. 1. Yes, you can get the latest version at phpbb.com and there should be instructions there to assist with the upgrade. The instructions can be found in section 2 here; http://www.phpbb.com/support/guide/ and you can download the latest version here http://www.phpbb.com/downloads.php 2. http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article.php?article_id=18 That should do the trick. 3. Open a helpdesk ticket, link at the top of every forum page here, and let them know your intentions.
  8. Don't you hate that?
  9. I cannot say for sure as I do not use this mailer but have you tried asking Jack, the scripts creator?
  10. While I am not familiar with that program, have you looked on the Dada forums and asked there?
  11. I only buy glass as well. I think it holds up better in the dishwasher than plastic. Ever drink from a warped cup?
  12. Hey Don, I have that camera. I like it, works well. I am a big fan of the Nikon CoolPix series but my pocketbook doesn't like it as much as I do. If I could, this is what I would get, the Coolpix 8800. The MSRP of $999 is out of my reach and even the Internet rates of just under $500 are a bit much for me as I do not take that many pictures. For me, when I buy a camera I look for what feels comfortable and can give me the most camera for my money.
  13. If you stay with Advanced Guestbook, you might want to look in to an image verification or the like as it will keep down the auto spam. I have set it up on mine and have not gotten ANY spam with my Advanced Guestbook.
  14. Well, through what I have read is that it is not so much its own browser but an ad-on for IE. If you look at the requirements it states "IE 5.5 should be installed, and IE 6.0 is recommended". They call it a browser that uses the Internet Explorer page rendering engine. Still kind of sounds like IE to me. What do I know, I like Konqueror.
  15. I like this part. Note, I have not tried this so I cant give an objective reply. Looks interesting though.
  16. Are you getting an error?
  17. That is one reason I am glad we do not have to bother with Mother Nature sending things from the ocean to us. Of course we do have a small problem with fires every year but that is another story. Thomas, you can have some of our warmth. We will be at 46C this weekend, about 115F. If I didn't have to worry about tornado's or hurricanes I would move to a better climate. I guess, on the bright side, we only get to about 50C or 122F in the summer so it could be worse.
  18. Thanks for the clarification David.
  19. This happens to more domain owners than you think. All ten of my domains go through this in what seems like cycles. Also, most companies block the senders IP and not the host name. Anyone worth their salt in a position to ban anything understands this problem and the tactics used by spammers and know what to look for to ban and what not to.
  20. First, I am not great at PHP but the error states that there is no image directory in your www directory. The www directory on our servers is just a link to the public_html directory so what happens if you take out the www and just make it $destination_file = "/home/xxxxxx/images"; instead? I could be waaaaay off so I will let someone with more PHP knowledge give a real answer.
  21. I was workng for the now largest registrar when a customer told me to look here. I have been here since.
  22. Let us not forget that even though most of us may not like the idea of disabling right click, this is not our site. It belongs to Simon and he can do what he wants on his own site. Yes some might not visit again and yes there are ways to get around the script but we do not know what his site is intended for so it may not matter.

  24. I cant save but I can save-as. If it were an image I can view source and get the path and depending on your setup go to the exact path to the file, I can get it from my temp internet files I can take a screen shot and crop the image in my editor or I can disable java script. That said, most users of IE probably not be able to bypass it and just move on.
  25. I am pretty sure mothing has changed but it might be best to open a ticket and ask them to look in to it. This is the only thing I could find on the web about it and I doubt it applies much.
