Randy, to answer your question about creating a folder above the public_html directory (really the only option you have in cpanel), but password protecting it from others accessing it via http (web browser), you would need to create an .htaccess file. The easiest way to do this is to open cpanel for your domain, create the directory (using the file manager, for example we'll call it "priv_ftp"), and then from the main cpanel screen, clicking the option "Password Protect Directories". Select the directory you created (in this example, "priv_ftp"), and create a password for it. Correct me if I'm wrong anybody, but I don't believe that the ftp daemon reads .htaccess files, so logging in through ftp would be unaffected by this, however, if someone tries to access through a web browser (ie "http://www.my-domain.com/priv_ftp"), they will be faced with the username/password prompt (I almost forgot, with a password you have to create a user name). That should sufficiently answer your question. If this is clear as mud for you, I'll be happy to explain a little better, just pm me.

Hey, what's the word on this problem? Haven't heard from you in a while...

Yes, welcome to the forums. I'm sure if you transfer you won't look back. As for me, TCH was my first host, and will be my last (to clarify: I won't be leaving TCH). They just can't be beat...

Good (Beach Boys anyone? lol sorry it's the first thing that popped in my mind I swear).

Thanks Bruce, I followed your advice and got an answer. And I'm quite surprised it wasn't "RTFM"... because that's about how easy it was. If anyone else has this same issue and would like to know how I resolved it, pm me.

Search Keyphrases will tell you what phrases people were searching for if they came to your site from a search engine (such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc). So, for example, run a google search for "Aaron and Sarah", and the first result (at least when I do it) is my website (of course hosted by TCH), http://www.aaronandsarah.net/. And in turn, in awstats under keyprases, I would see "Aaron and Sarah". I hope that sufficiently answers your question.

I went to phpbbhacks.com and searched for "allow guest vote poll" and came up with a few "hacks". So I made backups of 3 files, and changed the necessary code, and it works. I can provide code samples if anyone is interested (or I could just go back and do another search and provide you a direct link to the hack).

Alright, I fixed it. Guests may now vote on polls on this particular forum, so stop by and visit to place your vote. The URL is http://www.aaronandsarah.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=25

Hey guys, in phpbb on my admin panel, I'm trying to change the permissions for one of my forums. I want to set the "Vote" setting from "REG" to "ALL" so even casual visitors can vote on polls in my forum. When I change the setting to all and click submit, it automatically resets itself to reg. Is there anything else I can do? Is this a phpbb bug or what? Thanks guys.
