Thanks Don. That's the kind of stuff I need to know. Are there other things I need to be aware of?

My intention is for parents to sign up for the emails. We already have a list of nearly 100. My fear is that we be identified as a spammer. That is what I am trying to avoid. Some people are telling us that the emails are being flagged as possible spam the way we are currently sending them.

My daughter's high school band has been selected to represent our state in the 2005 National 4th of July parade in Washington DC. We are currently in the middle of a fund raiser. I have volunteered to create a web site for the band and donate the cost and my time. It will be hosted by Total Choice! One reason I want to create this web site is so we can have a mailing list to send out band booster minutes and other information to parents. My question is this. Am I going to have to worry about getting identified as a spammer? We have a list of about 100 parents that we will be sending information out as a group two to three times a month. The last thing I want is for the site to get black listed and shut down. Are there any things I need to do so this does not happen?

This ticks me off about CompUSA. They've done more times than I can remember. I refuse to shop there anymore. I think this borders on bait and switch and maybe some state's attonery general should investigate.

VI - I don't know about the home edition of Norton, but I had to download a patch for my corporate edition for sp2. Have you looked into that?

Update - I had my meeting with the HR Director and CFO for the hospital. It lasted for 2 and a half hours. I was very impressed with the system in place and with the hospital in general. After about 2 hours we began to talk salary. They know what I make currently and are putting together a complete compensation package for me to consider. Basically, they want me and the ball is now in my court.

Thanks VI. Jim - Head hunter was calling on behalf of the hospital. I haven't even sent any feelers out for any thing. I am very happy in my current job but I just think a person would be a fool not to listen to what they have to say.

Ok, I have never been in this position before, but yesterday I received a phone call out of the blue from a hospital in my area wanting to "open the lines of communication" with me about the Senior Network Administrator position that will soon be open. Naturally I told them I would listen so I have a meeting set up for early next week to talk with the HR director and the CEO. I believe I should treat this like a regular job interview but is there any thing else I should be prepared for? Are there any red flags I should watch for? Any other words of wisdom would be helpful. I really am taken back by this whole deal and don't want to walk into the meeting with the equivalent of my fly down. (I will check that before I walk in the door.) Thanks!
