  5. This begs the question that if randomly generated usernames are more secure, would requests to change the old username (the beginning 7 letter one) to a random one be accepted?
  6. How does someone get a copy of the script?
  7. I would like to take complete credit for this, but I had the same problem a couple of months ago, and someone on the forum gave me the same information. But it's nice to be able to pass it on.
  8. If you set up user.myserver.com as a new subdomain, here's a method for making the FTP access via browser work: >ftp://user%40myserver.com:password@ftp.myserver.com The "%40" takes the place of the "@" sign which causes the problem in the browser.

  10. Could they be using some sort of firewall? I've had trouble with McAfee Personal Firewall stripping away certain headers. I have figured out what algorithm it uses to decide which ones to strip nor how to disable this feature.

  12. Thanks for the assistance. CuteFTP Pro does not share this same menu structure. As far as I can tell, in CuteFTP Pro you are unable to alter the send/receive buffer settings.
  13. Are there any special settings that will optimize FTP uploads using CuteFTP Pro? Mine seems to upload very slowly and one file at a time. TCH-Rob: Just moving to the correct forum.
  14. Can anyone give me a link to the Gallery web site? Thanks

    Ftp Url

To continue my example, if I type in ftp://jdoe@****:dog@**** or ftp://jdoe@****:dog@ftp.**** into Internet Explorer, I get a "cannot find" error message. If I type ftp://jdoe:dog@****, I get another dialog box asking me to repeat the username and password, after which I get the ftp connection. I'm just wondering how to enter this the first time to eliminate getting the username and password dialog box. The two "@" signs in the same URL seem to cause a problem.

    Ftp Url

I still get a dialog box, asking me for the username and password, which needs to be: Username: jdoe@**** I think I need to incorporate "jdoe@****" into the original URL, but having more than one "@" in the URL completely disables it.

    Ftp Url

I am looking for help on how to express an FTP connection as a URL. For example, if I set up an FTP account as jdoe@**** with the password "dog", how can I express the logon as a single URL for Internet Explorer? I thought it would be: ftp://jdoe:dog@ftp.**** but that doesn't seem to work. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks
  19. From the Coppermine site, here are the current requirements (version 1.2RC): My review of TCH's site indicates that all these are available, with the exception that PHP is listed as version 4.0.15.
