<< (And, yes, Richard, I'm still trying to figure out how to do that bitmap thingy--did I mention I don't know much tech stuff ?--so I can make some of my designs available for other CSB users to download.) >> Trudy What would you like to know about the bitmap thingy? Richard -

Well, here's one for a starter.

Turtle I have Adobe Photo Deluxe and I use it more than Paint Shop Pro 7 for image effects, it seems to be easier to use. I haven't had Paint Shop Pro that long either, so it may take a while. Richard

Turtle & Mike Thanks Another question, my Forum email notification is not working at all now, is there any fix for that? Richard
-
Mike Good info, thanks. Should that install.php file be download for future use, before deleting it or is it not needed any longer? Any suggestions on making that config_global.php file secure? Richard
-
Rick How is that possible for someone to gain access to that, install.php file on the sever? Is there any preventive action that someone can take to prevent that from happening in the future? Richard

Simon That Freebie Calendar can be found http://www.calendars.net It is not a script, you use calendar.net severs to host your calendar. It's free, there are not any banners, pop ups or junk mail, I don't know how they do it for free, they also have a paid version. I have that Calendar open in the body of one of the pages of that Fishing Clubs site, the top frame resembles the rest of the pages. Good luck Richard

Changing Registrars (slightly Confused Question:)
RJSkon replied to llama_thumper's topic in Pre-Sales Questions
Rob Thanks for the "Heads Up", as a matter of fact after you mentioned that, I just checked the mail I deleted in the last 24 hours, just to make sure that I didn't receive anything from them. Talking about E-mail, I receive sporadic mail notification from this form, even though I have the "Receive Email Notification" function checked. Is that par for the course, or am I missing something in the setup. My primary email is with CompuServe and I thought perhaps, it may be their Spam filters working. Probably if I used richard@rjskon.com and used Outlook Express to read my mail, I wouldn't have a problem. Maybe I'll try it. Thanks Richard -
Changing Registrars (slightly Confused Question:)
RJSkon replied to llama_thumper's topic in Pre-Sales Questions
Rob I think, everything is pretty much squared away now, after about 30 E-mails to TCH, Resister.com, Webcountry.net and partnereu@register.com. TCH is now saying that the HOLD/LOCK is released and that it will take about 5 to 7 days to firm up the transfer. I'll guess I'll have to wait and see. Thanks for your help. Richard -
Changing Registrars (slightly Confused Question:)
RJSkon replied to llama_thumper's topic in Pre-Sales Questions
Rob It seems that you are on top of Transferring Domain Names. I have a question about transferring a Domain Name of mine to Total Choice Hosting. A Domain Name of mine comes due November 27,2003. I cannot transfer the name, because the present registrar is saying that my Domain name is "Locked and on Hold" Below is and an answer that I received from my present registrar, "We will only be able to release the domain name registration lock after it has expired." I have paid the transfer fee to TCH and they are telling me that they cannot do anything and that I have 22 days left to straighten out the problem with my present registrar, after that period I will have to try and retransfer the domain name. Below is the message that I received from TCH, "Please note that your domain transfer will be active for another 22 days. Domain transfers stay active for 30 days. Your domain transfer was purchased on 9-3-03. I would recommend finding out when the lock will expire so that we can determine if the transfer will need to be repurchased. There has to be a way to solve the problem, do you have any suggestions. I was also thinking about having TCH host my domain name. But, that now looks like it won't happen. Thanks for any help. Simon I was just looking at your script. The path that you have now is, $BASE_DIR = "/home/sclhost/public_html/cgi-bin/calendarscript/"; Is that /calendarscript/ file right or should it be /calendar.pl/ BTW, there is a great HELP page for the script that you using, http://www.calendarscript.com/documentatio...uick_setup.html Richard

Simon Have you given any thought about using one of those Freebie Calendars where there is not any script involved. I was thinking of using one on a site for a fishing club and it works good, the calendar can also be interactive by the club's members by using a password. There are not any banners or advertisements. You can see the calendar page here, http://rjskon.com/carl/calendar.htm Richard

Simon Just a thought, when you uploaded your script, was the "Transfer Mode" set to Ascii in your FTP client. Richard
