  1. Just wondering... you know how sometimes when you view a layout with tables in Netscape you get these gaping gaps at the top and the bottom of the table? Usually you have to go in and take out any height figures for the tables and then re-upload to get rid of the big blanks.... in Dreamweaver anyway. I was wondering if settin the Table Height to '0' would have a bad effect in browsers? Anyone done this before? Nat
  2. Hey gang... trying to launch the re-design of the IMA site this early AM and I am testing the pages... I am running into some strange CSS spacing thing. I have made a CSS file for the text. The HEADER for each page is not CSS scripted, but set at HEADING 2 and Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif. For some reason, the text that has CSS applied to it is generating large line spaces in some spots and I had set the line spacing to normal. You can view what I am talking about here: http://www.indiemanagers.com/membership_benefits.htm Any ideas why this might be happening? I am mainly viewing in IE6 with a 1024X768 browser window. Thanks, Nat
  3. Tracy, Thanks for that link. I am going to try those suggestions and see if they work. Nat
  4. Could it have to do with this line of code?: Should the variable be 'mail' instead of 'smtp'?
  5. Here is my Form Code:
  6. Here is my mailit.php code:
  7. Ok I just tested the form and got this error message: Where did I go wrong? _______________ Edit: I thought perhaps the error was that 2 of the email addresses in the recipient array in the mailit.php code were in the wrong order. I put them in the right order as they correspond to the 'send_to' field in the Contact form... still got the same error.
  8. Just working on a Contact page and I am implimenting Jack's Ultimate Form Mail Script. Does anyone know how i would go about making a drop down menu with several contact name options and having the user select only ONE of these people to send the email to from the site? I used the contact4.php template but it has check boxes... upon further reading of the docs it seems that the email is sent to all of those listed in the recipint array of the mailit.php code. I've got this in my drop down code so far, but not sure if I need to add any other variable etc Anyone know how I can have the email sent to only the chosen recipient in that drop down list? What modifications would I need to make to this line of mailit.php code: Thanks for any help you can give. Nat PS... the page I am working on is at this link: http://www.zikkipublishing.com/contact_wk.php
  9. Well at least he didn't say trowel so... that would hurt!
  10. I'm so happy, I'm bouncing.... Thanks for helping a webgyrl out!
  11. Just figured that out! Whooo hooo. If this solves my problem I am ONE HELLA happy webgyrl! LOL
  12. How does one deal with this spoofing thing? I have nearly 60,000 yes THOUSAND..... emails that are in my default folder for one of the domains I have.. I have no idea how to combat this.. people use different combinations of email addresses and the bouncebacks and spam seem to come to the default domain mail folder. I am at my wits end with this kind of stuff. What can I do to try to limit this happening? I seem to get a lot of this on several domains. Help! Nat
  13. Brian, Thanks for that. Sorry you had to go thru hoops to do it. I sure appreciate that you did it tho! Hmmmm that additional background is not gonna work. Did anyone else have issues with the top row breaking up last night? I am gonna go back to the old way I had it with the 194 table height but take out that background. I can not figure out why it is doing that on your system Brian. What a bummer! Just when I thought I had it! LOL Murphy's Law! Nat
  14. Hmmm that is interesting. I actually put in an exact table height for that topmost table because of the second problem you are having. When I viewed the layout in Mozilla, Netscape, Opera etc there was that 'gap'. I fixed that by adding in an exact table height to the top table. But as you see... doing that disjointed the top slices. Ok... so now I went in and put an exact table height of 194 for the outside top table row... and I put in the middle part backgroud... what does that do? Does it break up the top table slices again? Geez I wish I could get this perfect! LOL
  15. Brian- I just changed the topmost table height to nothing... does that fix the problem? http://www.indiemanagers.com/new_site/layout.htm
  16. Brian, That is so odd. I can't figure out why this is happening. Is there any way you can upload a screen shot of what you are seeing? Is it only the top row that is breaking up or is it some other part of the layout? Thanks, Nat
  17. Brian, What resolution are you at and what browser are you using? I was tweaking some more today with table height and I did notice when I did that it made the top part disjointed... but I think I got the proper height figured out. Can you check again to see if it is fixed on your end? Thank you all for the feedback... it has been so valuable to me Nat
  18. Lisa! Thanks for that answer... it all makes sense now! I guess I will have to rename my banners and links folders and also some filenames. I think Norton IS is a great program, but I wish you could configure it a bit more. You are supposed to be able to deliniate between sites that you don't mind pop us and ads for but it doesn't seem to be very comprehensive.... Oh well. At least I know it's not my system... was freaking out there for a bit. Thanks for the insight! Nat
  19. I think I've got it! http://www.indiemanagers.com/new_site/layout.htm All seems to be lining up fine now and the layout is centered. What's it like when you view it? Nat
  20. As long as you don't put them before the horse. (After all, that would be a hysteron-proteron fallacy.) Ahhh... do I sense a fellow English Major in the building??? I always did like inverted expressions myself! LOL
  21. I second that. This is hands down THE BEST hosting company on the face of the planet. Nuff said! Nat
  22. Ok- I have more tweaking to do but I gotta go workout real quick and then I'll get back to fixing the buggies. I think it's almost there now tho! YAY Nat
  23. OK- I've centered the main table so the layout is centered. But now I've got some funny line running thru the top table and the bottom two rows on the very right side. I think it may be the way I sliced it in Fireworks... gonna keep tweaking. But at least this new design will work for 800 X 600 now. I've learned so much doing this new layout.... thanks for all your pointers. You guys are so helpful Nat
  24. LOL... you are gonna laugh when I tell you it's a Norton thing. I turned off Ad Block and VOILA! The strange thing is that I put my domain name in the Configuration spot and it still blocks some images on my site and on other sites. It's supposed to allow 'ads' that you configure to be allowed, plus I can't figure out how it deems these images as 'ads' in the first place. Oh well. At least I know what it is now. I was freaking for a bit, I have a new system all ready to be built, but I am still saving up for it. Argh! Thanks for all the help Nat
  25. Ok... I tweaked it even more and rethought the way to slice and export the layout so the navigation bar is no longer in a layer. How does it look? http://www.indiemanagers.com/new_site/layout.htm Thanks
