Most scripts like forums and image galleries and so forth use 777 for a folder so the script can write to the folder. Is it safe, maybe not , but what choice do we have.

I wish for 7 hours of continous sleep each day for a week.

Welcome to the forums Davs As far as emails go, a cpanel transfer will copy all files including email folders. When you get your reseller account you will get the same space for your reseller domain as your reseller account. This is so your reseller domain will not take away space from your reseller accounts. Welcome to the forum midasxl You should put your files in the public_html folder so they will be seen by the public.

What will happen is you will no longer get email sent to any random address ( catchall ) You will only get email for accounts you set up. plus you can set forwards to go to your normal email accounts. Forwards are not email account's just an alias that will forward to the account you select when you set up the forward. Forwards are handy for those web site sign ups. I use sitename@my_email so I can delete the forward if it gets spammed.

I suspect when you save the menu as menu.htm DWW adds the extra code before and after to make it a real htm page. Try saving your menu as menu.txt. IE is very forgiving unlike the other browsers that stick to standarsds. If you clear ths up I bet the background witl display properly in FF

In Admin go to member controls > edit permissions under Permissions by Membergroup Unregistered Guests, click modify scroll down to Global Board Permissions - Unregistered Guests look for View attachments click on the radio button for A (allow) then at the bottom click save.

To unzip on the server use file manager, click on the file name and on the right select extract.

I think I had that problem in IE, maybe it was a cache problem. Like you I closed the browser and then reopened it and it worked. Although I did wait a while the second time too.

I had similar problems on a dial-up, I think it was my ISP or poor connection. I had to zip up my files and let file manager uncompressed them. For downloading, I found it quicker to use cpanel > backup download a home directory, and uncompressed on my computer. On cable I still zip large amounts of files for upload as its much quicker.
