TangentIdea Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 Y'know that little "TCH" icon that shows up beside the url on the browser? How would one go about getting one of those? (I mean, not necessarily "TCH" -- it is gorgeous and all, but I was thinking of something a little more personal. ) Is there something in the cPanel that I'm missing, or is that something that would be available through my domain registrar? -Ryan Quote
DarqFlare Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 You need to create a favicon.ico file and include it in your HTML coding. Try doing a search on Google for favicon.ico information. Quote
ThumpAZ Posted March 13, 2004 Posted March 13, 2004 basically, all a favicon. icon is is a very small bitmap image you create. There are all kinds of tools out there specifically designed for favicon creation. Although you can use any image composition program that can output a bitmap (bmp file) to create one. Once you have created the file, you simply rename it to favicon.ico and upload it to the root public_html folder of your site. Quote
P.T. Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 I have to say Thank-you for the instructions posted on doing this. TCH-Glenn, you saved me the money of buying a new application for this neat effect as well as the professional "look" it has given some of my sites. Quote

TCH-Andy Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 It works at both links for me.... Not sure what other folks find. Quote
Virtual Imager Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 zro, check out This Thread. TCH -Rob suggested the problem was an ISP Cacheing Server.... sounds like that could be your problem as well. VI Quote
Bunni Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 Both work in my Firebird 0.7 but neither works in my IE6. I have the same problem with my favicon. Also I found myself linked to a site called iconsurf.com and in 10 days my favicon has been loaded over 300 times according to my raw logs. It also seems to be the reason I had 198 Add to Favorites in my Awstats and only 58 unique visitors. Very odd.... Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 Try it with another web browser other than IE. For some reason IE may not display the fav icon. Quote
