taznumber1 Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 Is Cpanel's bandwidth page suppose to be showing the FTP and SMTP bandwith that the accounts use. Because I have looked at mind and the only traffic that I see if http traffic, and I know I have uploaded some data with ftp and have sent some emails and it still shows my traffic as 0 on both of those. taznumber1 Posted February 27, 2004 Author Posted February 27, 2004 Anyone have any idea why http is the only bandwidth that I see? Quote
MikeJ Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 I'm just speculating... TCH can answer appropriately. But I know TCH uses PureFTP on some servers, and I'm not sure PureFTP properly reports bandwidth usage in cPanel. It's a better FTP server, but WHM lists as a disadvantage of PureFTP: "No cPanel Access Log or Bandwidth Stats" Quote
taznumber1 Posted February 27, 2004 Author Posted February 27, 2004 So when how are we suppose to know if we are getting close to our bandwidth limits, or will our account only stop working if we exceed our bandwidth usage in what cpanel displays which is only http traffic. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Dont forget that we let you know when you hit 80% of your limit. Quote
TCH-Rick Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Big Gorilla is right, PureFTP is used do to a variety of technical reasons but the disadvantage is that it does not have reporting possible in the Show Bandwidth tab of Cpanel. You can see your total bandwidth in Cpanel, however, in the information on the left of your Cpanel where it reports Disk Usage and Bandwidth. Quote
