fjbfour Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 If anyone is willing to shed any light on good or bad experiences with these three email clients, I would appreciate it. I need to decide which one to go with, and currently there is nothing within cPanel that tells me anything about what they can and/or cannot do. Thanks in advance. Quote
MikeJ Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 You can try each one out. If you select one and don't like it, you will still get the choice every time you check webmail. Although I didn't spend a lot of time with each of them, I found Horde seemed to have the most features (I'm a bit of a power user) so I use Horde when I need to use webmail. It's not the most descriptive, but I didn't spend a lot of time in the 3 either... I mostly use a remote client to read email. If you enable Spambox, you will have to use Horde or Squirrelmail to access the spam mailbox, Neomail won't be able to see it. Quote
Noctorum Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 Its mostly a issue of personal preferance. I use Horde. Quote
gabeanderson Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 Horde is far superior to the others in terms of look and feel, functionality, and ease of use. Don't even bother with SquirrelMail or Neo. In fact, Horde is so much better, dare I suggest that TCH just get rid of the other two options altogether? Does anyone really use Squirrel or Neo after trying Horde at least once?? It would sure simplify the login process if Webmail just defaulted to Horde. -Gabe P.S. For the record, I prefer Pine via SSH and Apple Mail over Webmail, but when I do use Webmail, it's Horde all the way, baby. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 I use NEO if I use webmail at all. Why? Because it is the first link. I dont use webmail if I dont have to. Quote
svl2706 Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Hi all, I'm using squirell all the time... not really because I like it but because when I'm using webmail it's because I need to check my mails form a customer's network, thus through firewalls and Squirell is the only one (at least as far as I know) that allows you to check your email with a web client using http port 80. If someone has another idea of checking mail through firewall (that obviously blocks other ports and especially the one used by Neo or Horde) I'll be glad to read it. So please, don't get rid of squirel!!!! Cheers, S. Quote
