>>do you have hotlink protection enabled?

I don't know what hotlink protection is! So, it must be in it's default state.

>>Are you using squirrel mail when you see these images?

Yes.

Right now, I can see the images in most of the emails. It's only those few emails, which tend to block the images.

NOTE: I deal with good people sending good emails. No porno stuff!

Here is something I found whilst browsing the web.

There are two kinds of images that come with your HTML e-mail: the ones that come attached with the e-mail itself, and others that link to remote sites. Images that are linked to remote sites are considered "unsafe" for the following reasons:

Spammers can abuse this to validate your e-mail address

The sender can know instantly if you have read their e-mail or not (privacy concern)

Finding out information about your browser, operating system, and your mailserver (security concern).

Therefore, by default, webmail only allows images that are sent as attachments to be viewed.

I am unable to find anything in the sqmail settings that would allow me to view unsafe settings (unless I am missing something) so it may be that we have it disabled by default. I don't know for sure but I bet someone will be along shortly to verify this.

SquirrelMail does block "unsafe images" by default and the version we are running does not have an option for changing this. You can view the images by downloading the email using an email client that will show html.
