natimage Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 I have IE 6, Mozilla 5.0 and MozillaFirebird 0.7 on my computer. Using IE (which I'd rather not do), Flash movies come up and play fine. So, Flash IS installed on my machine. However, Mozilla and Firebird fail to find the player. Can anyone help me help Mozilla and Firebird??? Quote
DarqFlare Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 Perhaps the Flash plugin is in an IE directory and the other 2 browsers cannot find it... Back when I tested out Phoenix, I had to download the plugin, put it in a plugins folder under Phoenix... Then it worked. Quote

Boojum Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 I suspect part of the problem may be that the Flash installer does not recognize browsers other than Internet Exploder and Netscrape. Last time I installed an update to Flash, the installer asked if I wanted to install the plug-in in those two browsers, but no mention was made of my (admittedly slightly obscure Mac OS 9 version of) Mozilla. Chances are, you'll have to install manually on browsers other than the "mainstream" ones--and Flash's definition of "mainstream" appears to be a rather narrow one. (Note that I could be mistaken as this applies to other flavors of Mozilla as well as Opera and the like; what I describe is only my own experience, and your mileage may vary. ) Quote

KT62 Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 All, As someone has opened a Mozilla topic, I'll post this here to see if anyone can help. One of the Websites I use (Although not mine) uses ActiveX code, I love using Firebird as my main browser but it won't run the ActiveX code, has anyone found a fix/know whether Mozilla is going to be able to fix this issue? BTW - been with TCH for 3 months now - & love it, reliable, friendly service, great community. Rock Sign Quote
