av8ndad Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 Hello all. I am new to TCH and I am very happy so far. One of the things I really like is Spam Assassin. It has totally tamed the 300+ spams I receive on an average day. Over the past week, it has let through only a tiny fraction of my spam and has not id'ed any good messages as spam. As a result, I would like to know if it is possible for Spam Assassin to be configured to delete all messages it identifies as spam without any intervention from me or my users? I'd like it to simply look at the message and if it is spam, just delete it without sending it to my spam box so that I never see it in my e-mail client. Is this possible? Quote
TCH-Rick Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 If you go to E-mail Filtering in your CPanel and Add a Filter you can create a filter to delete marked messages. Just choose Spam Assassin Spam Header contains *****SPAM***** and select discard. You will also need to be sure that the Spam Header is turned on in the configuration section and that it is adding *****SPAM***** to the headers. Quote

DarqFlare Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 While I think auto-deleting spam is convenient, I don't think you should do it. I've had the newsletter from noreply@omgn.com sent to rfludwick@omgn.com tagged as spam before, so I wouldn't have it auto-delete. What I do is I have Outlook filter out subjects with [sPAM] in their header (I changed the *****SPAM*** to [sPAM]) and move them to another folder called Spam. then I check the spam folder every once in awhile and scan it over, making sure I'm not deleting anything I needed.
