conniew Posted October 31, 2003 Posted October 31, 2003 I hope I'm in the right area. I have just signed up two domains with tch. With one of them, I was able to go into the registrar page and change my dns to tch. Simple. The second one (the one that I have problems with the hosting provider) I have through a different registrar. I have never received a username/password for this registrar because I bought the domain through the hosting provider. I emailed the registrar and they just send me a copy of an email that they sent to the hosting provider asking for him to change the info. This is the same email I have been getting from them for weeks. My other hosting provider has his company info in the technical and administrative info areas according to whois lookup. So I have been trying to get them to change that information for weeks. So my point is this....what do I do to get the dns changed? Quote
TCH-Sales Posted October 31, 2003 Posted October 31, 2003 Hmm, looks like you'll need to keep bugging this guy or get yourself a new domain name. This is the problem with some domain name registers is they register it under somebody else's name so really you have no claim on trying to move it. If they can't do that, then you might ask them if it would be okay to transfer it over to our domain name registar. Good luck! Quote
DarqFlare Posted October 31, 2003 Posted October 31, 2003 This is why I always deal with my domain name purchases personally. I never get a domain registered through the hosting service. Sorry TCH, not even you. Quote
conniew Posted October 31, 2003 Author Posted October 31, 2003 I just want to thank Nicholas in live support today for helping me out with this problem. He gave me some links to try and it took me to cc internic.net's registrar problems email to get it changed. They still didn't change the dns nameservers but they did change the admin contact and I am transferring that domain to another registrar that I use and have total control over. Quote
TCH-Sales Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 Good to hear! This is why I always deal with my domain name purchases personally. I never get a domain registered through the hosting service. Sorry TCH, not even you. Well folks who register their domain name through our service don't have this problem, but after seeing burned cases like the one above I can understand why you would be careful. Quote
DarqFlare Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 Really? TCH doesn't give you the runaround? I'm impressed! Quote
TCH-JimE Posted November 1, 2003 Posted November 1, 2003 Hi, No, we don't see the point. Buisness work on customers being happy. If you start to mess around customers, it means customers get unhappy and so the word spreads like an infection you can never stop. Hence, we don't mess customers around and we are always upfront with them about everything. It one of the best reasons why total choice web hosting rocks Rock Sign Jim Quote
