roadmap Posted August 17, 2003 Posted August 17, 2003 I currently have a domain name pointing at my site and I wanted to know if it was possible to point that domain name to a sub-domain of my site? Quote
leezard Posted August 18, 2003 Posted August 18, 2003 I'm guessing you mean a domain name other then your sites domain name? you can have multiple domain names for your site but they must ALL point to the main page of your site. for example, you have mysite.com as your main site, but you also have mysite.org,us,biz,cc and net you can park all of those domain names as long as they are all pointing to your sites main page. you cant have mysite.net point to one subdomain and mysite.org point to another. Hope that makes sense Quote
TCH-JimE Posted August 18, 2003 Posted August 18, 2003 If you have lots of sites, you can get a reseller account, then you can go crazy and create as many accounts as you like long as you have the space. Then each of your domain names can point to a account Jim Quote
grassro Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 I have a question in response to the statement ...for example, you have mysite.com as your main site, but you also have mysite.org,us,biz,cc and net you can park all of those domain names as long as they are all pointing to your sites main page... If I understand this correctly, I could have my domains parked with TCH point to the home page of my existing TCH web site, rather than the default park site, advertising that the site is coming soon and "your domain name search starts here...". How do I accomplish this? Thanks. - Peter Mott (http://grassrootscomputing.org) Quote
TCH-Dick Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 submit a help desk ticket with the domain names you want parked and they will take care of it for you. Once they are parked change the DNS settings for each of the parked domains to the TotalChoice DNS ns1.totalchoicehosting.com and ns2.totalchoicehosting.com Quote
