When I send email using Squirrel mail, I do not get the message "Email sent" as we get when we send email from Yahoo.

Is there any way to get this message?

I have to send several important business emails and so need feedback that the email has been sent. Or can I trust Squirrel mail, that each time I send the email, it will be delivered correctly to the receiver (except when the recepient server is down), which I don't think is the right option.

Please help. It's IMPORTANT to me.

I am a little confused by your question, but can offer the following:

When I send an email with SquirellMail, it saves a copy in my Inbox.Sent folder showing the recipients.

There are checkboxes for READ and DELIVERY receipts on the compose page.

Is it something else that you are trying to do?

Oh thanks Wilexa. I checked my inbox.sent folder and it has the emails sent by me. I wanted something to inform me that an email has been sent (as Yahoo shows "email sent to email@domain.com"). That is because most of the email services used to work like this. I clicked compose and wrote a long long email. So the email service used to disconnect me from it's email server thinking that I went offline. (It works automatically). Then when I clicked "send" button, the email server used to direct me to my email-homepage. My email was never delivered and I thought that it was successfully delivered.

Yahoo eliminates such a thing as it shows a "reply sent" page after "send" button is clicked.

Now I tried Squirrelmail and it did not give me any "reply sent" message. So I was worried whether my emails are properly sent or not. But thanks to Wilexa, I will check my Inbox.sent folder to verify whether the email is properly sent or not.

If there is a plugin which can show such a confirmation message then please install on all servers. Everyone would appreciate it. Hope the technical service expert works on it, if possible.

I've never worked with a web based email server that provides the type of physical instant feed back that you are used to with Yahoo, and are asking for. Personally, I would find it irritating. Also, the fact that an email was sent does not mean that it has been delivered or read.

When you send an email, you can select your web mail software to save a copy in your sent email box.

ATP Mail is the only system that I've ever worked on that does popup a sent notification. Personally, I found it rather annoying and the later versions offered a Preferences Option so that it could be turned off by the user.

Hi,

Microsoft exchange offers the reciepts your looking for. It can give read and delivery reciets but as pointed out these are not guranteed:

1) It does not gurantee its been sent

2) The can not gurantee its being delivered

3) It can not be guranteed that its been read

4) It can't be guranteed that its been replied too.

Even if all of the above work, its still possible to deny the reciept going back or possible to even spoof it.

The best possible thing you can do is to pick up the phone and ring and just confirm that the person got the email and that you look foward to reading there reply soon and is there anything they wanted to clarify in the email?
