Nope, ASP is only for Windows based servers. All of the TotalChoice Web Hosting servers are Unix based. PHP is the alternative scripting language that can be used here and is supported by our servers.

Hi,

No its not possible, I will explain why. ASP will run on Apache via CGi and other methods. Its the same for running PHP on IIs. Both will run on servers which they where originally not designed too. This means that even in the best conditions, there will always be the odd problems.

Now imagine us offering ASP on a Apache server, whilst a great offer, we would suffer problems, not due to our hardware or due to lack of support as we have the finest and best support Gurus the web has to offer, but just because the emulation is not 100%

And here at Total Choice Hosting, we like to offer 100%, the best of the best in all departments, whether its support, web hosting or what we can provide, but this means that somethings that we would like to offer, we don't because it means we could not provide that 100% that we think you guys rightly deserve.

Hope this clears it up!

Jim

P.S. As a side note, if you got like a really old computer, even a p100 and win98 kicking around, you can install PWS (personnel web server) or even if your brave enough, IIs. You can then network to the computer and run it locally without a problem (you can if you got win2k or above run IIs on your own machine

linux is the best OS hosting.. and php the best server side language in my opinion. so, I love your hosting and your backend services.. I don't have any problems with it.. It was just a doubt and now It's clear.

thanx again 4 ur quick support

Whilst it is possible to serve up ASP extensions on a Linux/Apache Server I have no intentions of doing so.

Actually SUN distrubutes a package called Sun ONE Active Server Pages 4.0 that will server asp via apache. Also I belive chilisoft offers a solution.

However, these are Linux Servers folks. (Drop huge hint here for all to see)

True ASP runs best on a Windows 2003 Server and a Ensim Pro Control Panel. Naughty

One of the decisions I had to make before moving my sites to TCH was about the lack of asp support. I had two sites that would die if I moved them :o

One of the accounts was a royal pain anyway. They do their own programming and were just a hosting customer. I left them where they were and set up them up on a regular hosting plan when I pulled the reseller account.

I rebuilt the other site and am learning about php as I go.

overall experience; no asp = good thing Rock Sign
